ok - Edit
When here for lunch and we were the only ones in the place. There are lots of options. I had a tortilla which was reheated in the microwave and a small side salad.
Read moreWe also chose the rice and eggplant dish which had a bit too much oil for my liking but still edible. The food available is on display in a counter and is then reheated e.g spaghetti and “meat”balls, eggplant dish. Ok lunch stop, would go elsewhere in town for better dinner options.
Pros: all vegan
Cons: food reheated in microwave, slightly too much oil

Really cozy and friendly place - Edit
Like a deli you can choose 4 different type of foods from the many alternatives presented at the counter. We were there 3 times in our 1 week visit to Granada. Really tasty and good food. Highly recommended! The owner/staff was super friendly and helpful. Healthy food!

I've now been to El Piano in Granada and in York, and I'm afraid I found them both disappointing. We went to the Granada restaurant on a weekday evening, something like 8pm. The food was pretty underwhelming, and reheated in a microwave (only partly in the case of my meal). Healthy though, loads of veg, and definitely all 100% vegan. I'd probably go back for a quick lunch, but for dinner there are much better options in Granada.

Best Restaurant in town - Edit
I lived some years in Granada, and that is the best vegan restaurant. The owner is super nice, and from time to time you can listen to a friend of the house playing on the piano. The food is awesome, also the tapas. best tapas are the mushrooms! ask for "Uvas" instead of icecube at your drink if she have some frozen one you will be amazed, try them at best combined with an organic beer. Really miss that place.

Décevant - Edit
Restaurant charmant mais service très lent. Les plats manquent de saveur et arrivent sans accompagnements. Très déçu par rapport à la bonne note obtenue, mon impression est totalement opposée. Je ne le recommande pas.

Dissapointing - Edit
El Piano is a GF vegan restaurant located in El Realejo. We had lunch there last week and we were a little bit dissapointed.
Read moreWe ordered two lunch menus and we found all the dishes to be a bit bland. We had the onion quiche, which was too sweet, the veg dhal, a salad and the tabouleh (made with millet which was also a bit undercooked).
The staff was really friendly and speaks english but I wouldn't go back to El Piano.
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Bland food

We enjoyed our lunch at El Piano today. The server was friendly and helpful and she suggested some great choices. We had the hummus and fritters. I enjoyed the Zucchini Pasta dish and my husband loved the burger. We would definitely visit again.

Not expensive but very poor selection. Deceived - Edit
The place is nice, but the service is slow, they had nothing to serve, the food was not tasteful, a bit deceiving for the high score it has. I wouldn t recommend it.

Good food for a good price - Edit
When we arrived, the waitress kindly explained to us the menu options etc. We chose the hummus as a starter, the lentil dahl and veggie burger as main and also the quiche. The hummus and dahl were delicious, I didn't really liked the veggie burger but my boyfriend loved it so i guess it's not that bad :) the quiche was decent. In total we paid 17 euros for a quick and tasty lunch! I would recommend because of all the choices there were.

tasty food - Edit
They know how to prepare proper and tasty vegan food here. And there is quite some choice as well. So I was very happy I found this place! Unfortunately, the service was extremely poor and seems that this place is totally understaffed. If you are not asking when they will bring your food, you might be waiting for 2 hours!

Must visit in Granada! - Edit
I arrived in Granada quite hungry on a Sunday afternoon and this was one of the few places which was still open (not making siesta) and would serve me some vegan food. I was not expecting too much but was more than pleasantly surprised: They had a huge selection of deliciously looking meals, including salads, veggie side dishes and quiches and hamburgers.
Read moreI took their version of a tortilla de patatas which replaced the egg in the traditional recipe with a dough from chickpea flour and tasted absolutely amazing. The salad and veggies were very good as well and for less than 10 EUR this was a real bargain given the quality of the food and the size of the portion. Plus, the staff was outstandingly friendly.
Make sure to go here while in Granada, you will not regret it!
Pros: Great choice of tasy food, everything is vegan, very friendly staff

Reception and setting:
Read moreThe restaurant had just opened, so we had all the peace and quiet we needed after three days of getting closed in by processions from the semana santa. We got a friendly introduction to the plates of which to choose (I would have take them all if I could've).
What we had:
We both took the menu, one with drink (10.95) and one without (9.90) because the drinks linked to the menu didn't contain the one my gf wanted. For starters we had gazpacho and some tapas with our drink. For main she had the rice-dish and asparragus-salad, I had the chilli and Bangkok salad. We asked a side of the onion-quiche because it looked ideal to share.
What we paid:
We came out on 26,30 euro, which makes this restaurant very reasonably priced in our opinion.
Some thoughts:
Niceness, decent dishes, friendly service and room for a lot of people. There was barely anyone, but as the day was sneaking into noon, the restaurant had just opened. Maybe a small minus on the toilets (male toilet had no seat :p ) but that's a side-thought
Some explanation:
On our trip through Sevilla, Córdoba and Granada my girlfriend and I went to this restaurant, so the rating should be taken in comparison to the others for a full overview. I've made a systematic overview, but don't take this too seriously, as my opinion could even conflict with my gf's. Mind that the bill of this review needs to be split in two.
Pros: Nice food, well balanced, Decent portions, Well-priced

Pedimos un menú de dos platos y bebida y todas las opciones que tenían eran 100% naturales y cocinadas allí. Se nota que todos los platos son muy naturales y que nada lleva azúcares añadidos.

Many options, delicious food! - Edit
This place is not actually just a take out place despite the description. It is an actual restaurant in addition to having take out. Lots of healthy vegan food left me feeling great after days of eating bread and Manchego (which is delicious but...). I had the crepe with spinach, tabouli, and some carrot patty things called Tinas. I also had an interesting Batido. Everything was great, the staff was very friendly, and there was even a guy who just walked in and wanted play the Piano while he drank his wine - so I got to listen to some live music. When I was there it seemed to be mostly locals.

Delicious!!! - Edit
This little restaurant is so perfect for vegan food on the go! I'm the only vegan in my family, so I often have to grab food to go when we travel since I don't have anyone to eat with me at sit-down restaurants.
Read moreNote that you can also eat the food there as there are tables inside. The food was delicious, and the perfect portion. You get to choose three dishes to eat out of a cute little boat. LOVED this place - Edit
We found this spot on our way to another vegan restaurant. We had read reviews of this one and it didn't sound that good but now I realize that any mediocre reviews are two years old. Here is why... We were afraid it was going to be a take out place with a standing bar. Not the case at all! They moved their location and the interior is charming with plenty of quaint tables. The ambience is wonderful. The waitstaff is so sweet and welcoming despite our horrible Spanish. Nina Simone plays softly on the radio. Lively ceramic dinnerware. Now importantly, on to the food! There are dozens of choices - all homemade and displayed in a glass case for you to select from. We got two kinds of Indian Dhal one from chick pea and the other a tomato ginger lentil. We had fresh grilled pineapple. These amazing "meat" balls with sauce. Mushrooms that I will attempt to recreate at home - most likely unsuccessfully as they had beautiful layers of flavor. We had grilled potatoes. The onion quiche was outstanding - more like any quiche than I've ever had at a vegan restaurant. They gave us a complimentary dessert too. The portions were generous and everything was delicious. We are in Granada for another two days and plan to return!

Fast vegan food - Edit
Everyone has said pretty much everything about this place and I totally agree with most of the comments. It's a place for a quick meal, don't expect nothing spectacular but it's not bad either! The only thing I really disliked in this restaurant is that when I asked to go to the toilet they sent me to the primary health center on the other side of the street?!?!! Really??? I though you couldn't open a restaurant without a toilet!!! There is not even a place to wash your hands!!! Not cool at all!!! So I think that as a take away this place can be ok, not as a restaurant!!

EL PIANO is a shop, not a restaurant, and makes no claim to be otherwise. We offer take-away food at take-away prices PLUS we have tables to accommodate people who wish to eat in AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. Hence you can eat a full vegan and gluten-free meal in EL PIANO GRANADA of starter, mains (4 savoury dishes), dessert and a drink all for under 10 euros. Toilet facilities are available to the public in the 24 hour medical centre exactly opposite and in since December 2013 there has been a toilet available on site. Thanks for providing the opportunity to make this more widely known.

Not traditional dining, good for lunch. - Edit
The atmosphere was pleasant and there was even a piano player present :) After reading all the excellent reviews I have to admit my expectations were not met here. Perhaps this was because of my lacking Spanish skills, but the ordering system was a bit confusing. You pick four dishes, all of which you can see in a refrigerator in front of you. They then are reheated in a microwave, or served cold. Thus the food did not taste fresh and the desert (lemon cheese cake) had curry scent in it from standing together with the other dishes in the fridge. Perhaps when you chose a desert ask when it was made to make sure it's fresh enough. The food was nevertheless tasty, although for dinner not filling enough. I would definitely recommend it for lunch and they offer take away! I don't want to sound to harsh as I did enjoy going to el piano! All the paper is recycled and their green policies are amazing! After leaving Granada for Malaga I went to the el piano in Malaga and knowing what to expect I found it very enjoyable!

It's hard to beat a full meal, all vegan, all gluten-free, much organic and locally sourced, of a starter, four savoury mains, a dessert and a drink for under 10 euros...and all made on site. I think you mean that the food is not cooked to order because of course it is fresh, made and displayed daily. Not speaking the language can be a drawback when ordering in any establishment...but seeing all the options is usually helpful and the pointy finger generally works well! Your review while not wanting 'to sound harsh' does sound harsh and is not a fair description of what is on offer: amazing food at an incredible price.
