Really good gyros here. Get the potato dish, it really stood out - the classic wrap style has been done better elsewhere. Really good value considering the size of the portions, quite a long wait though if busy. Nice to see the community come out in Dresden!

Dicker Schmidt ist dicker Schmidt und kein Döner! wenn man das vorher weiß, ist die Erwartungshaltung vlt. nicht so hoch. Denn es schmeckt eben nicht wie Döner. Viele Optionen; auch zum Selbstkreieren, aber leider extremst fettig! Einfache Imbiss-Ausstattung; manchmal lange Wartezeiten. Insgesamt überbewertet.

We had a quick meal here in the evening. The place was very simple, but still quite okay with a good vibe. We ordered a kebab in pita and a roll and had to wait about twenty minutes. The portions were large and tasted good even though it wasn't anything special, so quite okay fast food. :)

We ordered two Western Langer Schmidts and holy cow! These things were giant!! Spicy and delicious, and I couldn't even finish mine alone. It was so much food! Definitely try Der Dicke Schmidt out. Make sure you come hungry!

Ein rein veganer, "linker" Laden. Man kann beim Döner wählen, ob das "Fleisch" aus Soja-Gyros, Erbsenprotein oder Seitan besteht. Es gibt zudem mehrere Soßen (Knoblauch-Petersilie-Pesto, Tzatziki, Kräutersoße) und man kann ein Topping wählen (z.B. Barbeque oder Salsa).
Read moreIm "dicken Schmidt" ist auch eine kleine Theke "der süße Schmidt". Dort gibt es Eis, Zimtschnecken und Café. Das Vanille-Eis ist sehr zu empfehlen. Das ist das beste, das ich je gegessen habe, seit ich vegan bin. Wenn man vorher beim dicken Schmidt bestellt hat gibt es sogar einen Rabatt (Zwei Kugeln für 3€ statt 3,70€).

Been there a lot. Some Döner-Stores offer vegan options but I’m never sure how vegan the way of preparation is. Here everything is vegan and it tastes wonderful! You can watch the staff prepare the food and I especially recommend the “Kartoffel Schmidt” which comes with a baked potato.

Read morePluspunkte sind definitiv die saisonalen Extragerichte und das persönliche Anpassen der Speisen. Auch gibt es Mehrweg, leider haben wir das erst zu spät mitbekommen.
Die Wartezeit war trotz nur zwei Bestellungen vor uns recht lang, dafür wurden wir mit einer üppigen Portion und hammermäßigem Geschmack belohnt. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!
