Mein Mann und ich haben einen Döner und Dürüm gegessen und waren beide begeistert. Die Kräutersoße ist ein Traum und auch das Seitan war sehr lecker. Wir werden definitiv wieder etwas bestellen!

Wir kommen immer wieder gerne zum dicken Schmidt. Die Auswahl an veganen Möglichkeiten ist sehr groß. Besonders zu empfehlen ist der lange Schmidt mit Soja Gyros. Die Atmosphäre ist eher kühl und die Preise etwas höher, dafür sind die Portionen aber auch sehr groß. Der dicke Schmidt ist vor allem geeignet, wenn man Lust auf einen (großen) Snack hat, dabei aber nicht so lange im Restaurant sitzen möchte. Alles in allem jedoch eine *dicke* Empfehlung.

Delicious vegan cinnamon rolls, ice cream and coffee drinks in the same location where the "Dicker Schmidt" is located. If you want combine savoury and sweet dishes you are at the right spot. We tried cinnamon rolls with different toppings (crunchy pretzel, apple compote). I liked the apple topping more because it gives the cinnamon roll a fruity taste. You can also combine the roll with ice cream if you want. They offer around 6 different sorts of ice cream here.

This is one of my favourite vegan places in Dresden. The location is kind of canteen style, simple but nice. I usually go there with a box and take a lunch or dinner with me as the place is quite crowded at usual meal times.
Read moreThe food itself compares to Kebap or Gyros plates and comes with a lot of salad, vegetables and special add-ons, such as nuts, depending in what you order. You can customize your order by choosing several bases (soy, seitan, no-chicken made of peas) sauces and side dishes (flatbread, dough roll, potato).
The menu offers some all time favourite arrangements as well as seasonal specials usually. And all of them are tasty.
Just go there and enjoy.

Let me start by saying I ordered this delivery via the “Wolt” app- which I downloaded specifically for this meal. I had found this as the top rated vegan restaurant in Dresden. My Griechisher Schmidt with the “kebab” protein was indeed one of the best vegan sandwiches I’ve ever had. They absolutely nailed the spicing and consistency of the kebab “meat”, while the salad and bread was equally exceptional. I was less enthused however over the gyro, which had the soy “meat.” The taste was way too soy for me. So go to Dicke Schmidt, but stick with the kebab.

Finally I can enjoy Kebabs again - Edit
I was totally blown away by the Greek style sandwich of lovely toasted pita bread and the freshest of vegetables heaped inside with crunchy seitan and spices. I needed the fork initially because it was heaped so high but soon was able to sink my teeth into the sandwich old school style. Yum. Yum. Yum!!! I’ll be back. #Veganuary
