Incredible food - Edit
Mind-blowingly good food, one of the best meals I've ever had. Creative cooking with interesting ingredients and flavours - absolute stand out was the lemon ravioli. I'll have to travel back to Amsterdam for this!! The desserts were also 5 stars. Gorgeous setting and ambience, brilliant service, loved the whole ethos behind the place - so worth the trip!

Lovely vibes and extremely good food - Edit
We went for dinner and the menu was exciting. We had two each of the starters, mains and desserts. All were beautifully presented and delicious, well balanced and adventurous with the ingredients used. The setting is great too. Would highly recommend

Not vegan! Fish suffering - Edit
They make use of aquaponics in their Green House, which is the farming of fish in small plastic buckets to feed the soil. This is not a vegan practice and it involves serious animal suffering. Fish should be free in nature, not captured in small plastic tanks. Please stop this aquaponics asap!

Update: Still good as of February 2025.
Read moreI've eaten here a few times but this latest visit really blew me away. We had almost every dish on the menu, shared between four of us, and loved or at least liked everything.
Favourites were the smoked sauerkraut, pointed cabbage and spicy risotto.
The oyster mushroom bitterballen are always good.
Update from latest visit: still great! And great to hear they have permission to keep going for a couple more years.

Cozy spot - Central Amsterdam Noord - Edit
This is always a cozy and charming spot to meet, whether indoors or on the terrace. In summer, you can take a swim; in winter, you can warm up by the fire. A great place for everyone! Perfect for just drinks or a full meal. Centrally located in Amsterdam Noord. The entire menu is plant-based. Love the hot chili dip!

Good food and very friendly service - Edit
We had a delicious plant-based meal, creative combinations of flavors. This is a lovely place with many local guests. Relaxed and cozy atmosphere. We heard that Cafe de Ceuvel can happily stay at the current location, at least, until January 31, 2027.

Great food! The serving sizes were a bit on the small side, but the reasonable prices allowed for desserts and drinks which made up for it. Either way, immensely happy this project exists and that I could come support it.

I came here with my coworker and his wife who are omnis but veg curious. They loved it! The lemon risotto in particular was a hit, but everything was good. The location is right on the water and the decor reminds me of the hip neighborhoods in Berlin. This is a great place for groups.
