Unique place at lovely location next to the water

This place has a great eco and alternative vibe. It's great for enjoying a coffee or tea and some vegan cake. I can recommend the vegan chai latte. They also have incredibly tasty bitterballen made from mushrooms! Best ones I have had so far. Can get very busy in the evening on weekends.

Pros: Great vibe, The vegan bitterballen, Cozy

Cons: Can get very busy

Cool vibe

We had nachos as a starter which were super delicious. They had an awesome vegan cheesy sauce on top and were really enjoyable. The main course however was a let down, we each had a black noodle salad which wouldn’t have been our first choice but was the only vegan main on the menu. It was too many different flavours for one dish and we didn’t find it very enjoyable however this could just be personal preference. Overall prices were extremely reasonable if not cheap for dinner in this city, staff were really lovely and the atmosphere in the place was very chill and nice. Would be nice for a few more vegan options or at least another for the main tho but would recommend for maybe a small meal with drinks.

Pros: Delicious nachos , Awesome vibe and staff , Reasonable price

Cons: Not enough vegan options , Disappointing main

Sustainability at the Docks

Just to be precise this place is NOT vegetarian, they do serve a dish with shot duck (they warn you about the possibility of still finding rests of bullets inside) and shrimps. The menu varies often so it might happen that the menu is vegetarian but the place is not. They do care about sustainability though and everything is built with recycled materials. It's a lovely place on water. The atmosphere is relaxed and chilled especially on a sunny day. The menu is a bit limited in general but there is always a vegan option for starter and main. I find that the portions are a bit small and the prices (like mostly everywhere else in Amsterdam) on the high side. All in all it is worth going at least once.

Pros: Suistainable, Great atmosphere, On water

Cons: NOT vegetarian, Small portions

Great place, limited vegan options

De Ceuvel is a special spot in a place of Amsterdam Noord known for being a hub for creativity and (social) entrepreneurship. The atmosphere inside is cosy and welcoming. Only downside is the limited number of vegan options on the menu. We had a Dutch Weed Burger (that you can find in many spots around the city) and a hummus sandwich. Both were good.

Pros: Atmosphere, Decent food

Cons: Limited vegan options

Nice place

When De Ceuvel opened I was told that there'd be vegan options, but when we went there for the first time for dinner there weren't and they offered me a larger portion of the starter salad "without the dressing, the cheese", etc. for the price of a main course. So we left ;-) More recently we called before if there was a vegan option, there was, I made a reservation, and upon arriving there was no reservation for me but fortunately plenty tables. The waiter however told me that there were no vegan options that night, even though I called beforehand. After talking to other staff members it was actually possible (and not even hard, they just didn't have to put cheese on the main course) so this time we stayed and it was good, but you just never really know what to expect here. From a vegetarian place, you'd expect they know what vegan means.

Pros: Local beers =), Great initiative, Great atmosphere

Cons: Not always vegan options, Staff nice but uninformed about food
