Très bon - Edit
Il y avait un veggie breakfast au menu, j'ai demandé à l'avoir en vegan, les serveurs avaient l'habitude de faire ça. C'était très bon et c'est chouette de pouvoir manger une spécialité locale !

Very Nice Lunch - Edit
Went in with my partner -it was pretty busy but managed to get a big table and split with another small group who arrived after us. It says you order at the table and then pay at the till but we asked and they said to order at the till. They give you a number and call you to come and collect it when it is ready.
Read moreI ordered the Afghan carrot and yellow lentil hot pot (specified ‘vegan’ at the till) which was a delicious stew with a side of chutney and my partner got the burger which was very nice and flavourful (a little on the filling side).
Would recommend. Both dishes were a little expensive at around the £15 mark but the staff were welcoming with a lovely view as well!
Pros: Food, Views, Colourful character
Cons: A bit pricey

Excellent cafe - Edit
Delicious food with good variety of vegetarian and vegan options, lunch menu changes daily and is served from 12 alongside all day breakfast. Beautiful views over the bay and very colourful internal decor. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely come back.

Not a Latin Restaurant - Edit
The food and service were good. You will have to wait in a stairwell until a table is ready. And, while the name and internal decoration suggest a Latin influence, the restaurant and menu items were not the cuisine I was hoping for. My meal was a (good) peanut curry and my husband had a Scottish dish. I was the only Latina in the restaurant, soooo, fellow Latino/a/e/x don’t get your hopes up if you are missing comunidad!

Good and fast but limited vegan options - Edit
Has a vegetarian (not vegan) fry up you can get without eggs. But the price will be the same. Good breakfast to fill up right before a big hike.

Excellent! - Edit
We visited Cafe Arriba because of the outstanding reviews on Happycow. And it did not disappoint! The staff were all very friendly and attuned to dietary requirements. The atmosphere was really great too.
Read moreI had a veggie all day breakfast with the eggs substituted for hash browns as suggested by the waitress. Very happy to get this at no extra cost! My friend and I also shared nachos with vegan only sauces.

So happy we found this place - Edit
Not a whole lot open on a Monday in Skye. We were fortunate enough to find this place via happy cow. Vegan options were modified veggie options. We had the veggie breakfast and subbed the eggs for hash browns as per the server’s suggestion. They even had vegan butter! So so yum.

Limited options but good experience - Edit
Not loads of vegan options - vege burger, vege breakfast minus the eggs and a Buddha bowl…
Read moreHowever the vege burger was really delicious, homemade, flavoursome. Coleslaw was nice, chips were tasty. They have vegan mayo and plant based milk etc.
Service good, the surroundings are colourful and appealing.
Overall a good experience and would recommend!

Really good food and personal service - Edit
We had a fantastic meal with a wonderful view overlooking the loch. The cafe was very busy which is testament to how good it is. The food is, from what I can tell, homemade and is really delicious. The waiting staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place as a good mix for vegans and non-vegans alike.

Food was great, staff were even better! - Edit
I had a vegan breakfast & my partner had the vegan burger. Both lovely food. But the lady that served us was funny & wonderful and made the experience extra nice. She was a big dog lover too & our dog was treated like a prince!

Amazing hot chocolate - Edit
The atmosphere is really cozy and we can not recommend the hot chocolate enough - it was so good!

They even let us charge our phones there.

Tasty - Edit
Had the burger and chips. As stated they make it vegan by changing the bun. The mayo they use is vegan now. Quirky cafe, great views friendly staff and really tasty food.

Very nice spot, few vegan options - Edit
I really liked the spot, the people were very nice and the ambience is lovely. However, we had to wait some time to get a table (approx. 20min.) but the food was brought fast. There are few vegan options, we only noticed two: a tasty couscous salad and a vegan burger, that was rather special (a vegetable pattie, a slice of tomato and lettuce and some vegan butter).

Decent selection - Edit
Stopped by here on our first day on Skye for a quick bite. They had a better than modest selection, including an all-day breakfast option that can be vegan without the eggs and two vegan dessert options. The sweet potato and bean veggie burger Patty was adequate, but you need to request it with no mayo and on a different bun (I opted for a bagel. Overall the place and the food Reminded me of the veggie menus of yesteryear. Not bad by a long shot, but know that there are better options out there. Still, likely one of the best choices you’ll have as a vegan in Portree.

The interior is cosy and gives off a warm feeling, which is great for rainy days.

Funky, colorful cafe w/friendly staff and some vegan options - Edit
Stopped here for lunch and had to wait because it was so busy. There were a few vegan options on the menu and we were glad to hear they had vegan cheese. Ordered the ultimate nachos and the veggie burger, veganized. Both were good. Might return if in the area again, but nothing else vegan on the menu except the samosas. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Best veggie place on Skye - Edit
We had to wait 10 minutes, but it was worth it for the fantastic french toast sandwich with mushroom and walnut loaf, roast tomatoes and salad. I thought it might be overpriced for a sandwich before it arrived. However, it was a whole meal and I would have paid more! Got a great seat by the window and would highly recommend to anyone seeking great veggie/vegan food.q

Decent breakfast - Edit
We both had a soya latte and the vegan version of the “Big Breakfast”.
Read moreThe latte was well made with good coffee. The breakfast was advertised as coming with veggie sausages and a tattie scone however these were missing, so the meal was a little simplistic with just toast, beans, tomatoes and mushrooms with veggie haggis. However we were grateful to have a decent hot breakfast option. Overall they seemed to be knowledgeable about catering to vegans and keen to provide something for us.
