Great for a quick vegan bite in NOLA

Very nice and cosy place in the heart of New Orleans, not far from Bourbon and Canal street. We had the biscuit tower, the big daddy burger and a chocolate chip and walnut cookie and it was all excellent. Definitely recommend! I also appreciated that they had a list of other vegan and vegetarian NOLA businesses on their notice board inside. 👏😍🥑

Pros: Good variety, Cosy dining space , Friendly service

Cons: No

Incredible breakfast spot and bakery

This fully vegan cafe was incredible. Walkable from my hotel, and close to, but not in, the French quarter so it wasn't overly crowded. The pumpkin cheddar biscuit sandwich was so tasty, as were the brioche donuts!

All vegan!

Breads on Oak is a vegan gem in New Orleans that impresses on every level. Whether you’re vegan or not, this place will win you over with its delightful selection of baked goods, all-day breakfast, soups, sandwiches, desserts, and excellent coffee. The quality of ingredients is top-notch, and everything tastes fresh and flavorful. Their plant-based pastries and breads are exceptional, with rich textures and satisfying flavors that make you forget you’re eating vegan.

The all-day breakfast options are creative and delicious, perfect for any time of the day. Their sandwiches are hearty, and the soups are comforting and well-seasoned. Desserts are equally fantastic, with a great selection to satisfy any sweet tooth. To top it off, their coffee menu is impressive, offering a variety of great brews that pair perfectly with their treats. The café has a warm, welcoming vibe, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their menu. If you’re looking for high-quality vegan food and coffee in New Orleans, Breads on Oak should be at the top of your list!

Pros: 100% vegan, Location, Quality ingredients

Cons: Need one in Tampa!

Best Meal in NOLA

At a huge youth gathering for the ELCA our group stopped so some of us could eat a good meal - and everyone, mostly non (yet) vegans, LOVED every bite!

Pros: Excellent quality , Kind staff , All vegan

Nice breakfast and light lunch spot

As a tourist staying in the French Quarter, I was grateful to have this place nearby for breakfast. The TLTA sandwich is Tempeh, Lettuce, Tomato and Avocado. The tempeh was delicious and warmed. On another day I had the avocado toast with tofu scramble, also quite good

I’d plan a trip just to come here again

Anyone want to pick me up from the airport? 😂 This place is in my dreams. The brioche Boston Crème doughnut, the muffanada, the old square loaf bread! The latte! It was all just so good! And I’m from Phoenix, had never had creole seasoning or Crystal hot sauce, and loved them both. I bought some of each down the road at a grocery store and now use them in everything!! I need everyone to try this place!!

Sorry if there is any confusion. But our downtown store opens at 8am and not 7:30am. It’s our uptown cafe that opens at 8am. I hope this helps!

100% Vegan!

Lovely little coffee shop, we went here twice for breakfast during our three day visit. Both days the food was fantastic and the service was courteous. They offer 3 for $3 next day pastries if you’re looking for a bargain.

Pros: Lots of pastry and bread options, Delicious breakfast sandwiches!!, Plenty of indoor seating

Cons: Does not accept cash

Fantastic vegan eatery!

The staff are wonderful and the atmosphere is cozy. I wish I could have gone again. I had the pumpkin biscuit breakfast sandwich, which was well seasoned and delicious, with a London Fog. I bought a quiche to bring on my travels where there'd be few vegan options. My trip home was delayed by a day and somehow the quiche stayed good. I made two meals of out of it.

Amazing Vegan Bakery & Cafe!

Good find when visiting NOLA!! The brioche donuts are irresistible and they also have all day breakfast, sandwiches, soups, and tons of breads, all which are vegan!

I tried the lemon curd brioche (8/10), the almond funfetti brioche (10/10), the cinnamon roll with nuts (5/10) , the matcha latte (7/10), and the Egg O vegan biscuit sandwich with egg and bacon (8/10). Definitely give this place a try!!

Come Hungry

Make sure to come hungry because there are so many tempting options to try! I had the Pumpkin Cheddar Biscuit and WOW - the tofu scramble it comes with was whipped and creamy, best tofu scramble I have had. The biscuit was delicious as well - not dry like some biscuits tend to be. I also had a cinnamon roll and rumbles which I highly recommend! Only disappointing things were the staff (who clearly did not want to be there) and the drip coffee, I would opt try one of their specialty coffees next time. I plan to check out the other location in the future!

Great vegan breakfast options. And pastries.

All vegan, I think. Particularly good for breakfast. The donuts and other pastries look impressive. And the staff could have a serious coffee discussion.

Best I've Had Yet - ANYwhere!

This is by FAR some of the BEST I've had ANYwhere, and for as long as I can remember. In other words, yes, that includes in NYC where, as I always say, we're spoiled for choice when it comes to Vegan options, INCLUDING organic, ethically sourced, etc.
The bread here (as the name implies) is baked in-house and is as light yet satisfying as any high-quality I've ever tasted. If you ever find yourself in "New-awlins" you MUST come here!

Pros: All menu items are Vegan, Organic, and Sustainable, Organic, Multigrain Bread Baked in-house , Light, yet satisfying fare

Couldn't stop going!

We were in New Orleans for 7 days in a hotel a few blocks away, and we ate breakfast here 6 times, only missing the day it was closed. The meals and pastries were all amazing and we were especially hooked on the lemon strawberry donut and the blueberry biscuit

Pros: cute postcards and merch, friendly and helpful staff
