Cheese has rennet

The cheese plate on the menu is labeled vegetarian, but the cheese has rennet.

Best Valentine’s pre fix dinner in Tallahassee for vegans

I was so happy when my boyfriend surprised me with reservations to the Black Radish. The food is innovative and is something different than anything else you can find in Tallahassee. It’s the perfect spot for date nights or special occasions.

Cons: Can be pricey

Tasty vegan options

I loved the emphasis on local ingredients. I tried the mushroom cream sauce pasta. The mushrooms were some of the best I’ve had! The vodka sauce and fried okra were excellent too. I think overall the food was good just pasta dishes were under seasoned

Amazing place!

It has a menu of when vegans go to a regular restaurant, and there is a few options.. except it’s for the meat eaters! So 2-3 dishes have jeat, but the rest of the menu is vegan/vegetarian. Great place, great food, great service.

Good food. Nice atmosphere.

This is a nice option in Tallahassee for vegans. I went with my non vegan husband, and he enjoyed the vegan dishes, too. I tried 3 vegan dishes; the potato puffs, the brussel sprouts, and the mushroom grit cake. The brussel sprout dish was my favorite. It had a lot of flavor and was delicious. The atmosphere is nice. It is an open concept restaurant with no separation of the cooking, and I found the smell of steak being cooked gross, though. If I get the chance to return, now that I know how big it is, I would request to be seated elsewhere to not be as close to the cooking station.

I would definitely give them 5 stars if I could

Omg! So good. We had the bubble potatoes which were scrumptious. The smoked paprika aoli was so good. Also had the bucatini pasta with the cashew cream. It was divine. We will definitely be going back, I want to try the brocolini dish next. Oh and we also had the orange olive oil cake! Everything we tried was delectable! Almost half of the menu items are vegan, there's actually only two meat dishes, everything else is vegetarian or vegan. It is somewhat pricey but I feel it was worth it for a special occasion dinner. Also want to mention that our server Jordan was incredible. As I stated in the cons portion the tables are a little small and she timed the plates just right so we never had a load of dishes crowding the table. I highly recommend it!

Pros: Almost half the menu is vegan, Food was delicious!, Nice dining room

Cons: A little on the expensive side, Tables are a little small too.

I would give 5 stars if I could

The restaurant is really nice, the staff is great, and the food is delicious. I tried the potato balls, the polenta cake, the broccolini, the sourdough, and everything was delicious. I had the lemon cake and the pumpkin cheesecake and they were both delicious.

Pros: Lots of vegan options that are clearly labeled , Great service

So good! Expensive but worth it

Very good, very expensive. Potatoes are my favorite. Usually one meat entree, otherwise fully vegan.

Pros: Mostly vegan, Incredibly good

Cons: Very very expensive

5 stars if I could

Plant forward restaurant almost all vegan and vegetarian menu, everything we ordered was OUTSTANDING! Corn ribs, miso grit cake, bucatini pasta with cashew cream sauce, pappardelle pasta with roasted eggplant (left off the pecorino cheese to make it vegan) and got the orange olive oil cake to go. I'd order exactly the same way if I were to go back plus add the bubble potatoes which sounded great but we were not hungry enough to get an extra dish. Loved that you can order half portions of the pastas so we could order all small plates to share and try more items off the menu. I had one of their house made draft cocktails, the agave fresca made with hibiscus infused tequila which was light and refreshing, my partner had the Proof brewing mango wit beer which was yummy and vegan.

Atmosphere had a cool vibe, good music but not too loud, we sat at the chefs' counter so we could watch them work, and chat with the chefs (unfortunately had to also see 2 orders of meat prepared while we were seated there.) Our server Tai was super friendly and knowledgeable re: vegan items and happy to answer questions. We'll definitely go back next time in Tallahassee, they change their menu seasonally but hopefully those corn ribs will still be around when we're back!

Pros: Lots of yummy vegan dishes, Vegetable focused rather than mock meats, Friendly staff

Cons: Two meat dishes on menu plus some dairy & eggs

Tallahassee's only upscale, fine-dining restaurant with excellent vegan food!

I ate at Black Radish with a group of vegans, vegetarians and omnivores. We all agreed that everything was wonderful - taste, presentation, service and ambiance. Items that were ranked a favorite by everyone: bubble potatoes (vegan) and handmade spinach tortelloni (vegetarian). Other items that most people liked: bucatini (vegan), fried tofu lettuce wraps (vegan), orange olive oil cake (vegan), and chocolate peanut butter icebox pie (vegetarian). I just love that there is finally a high end (mostly) vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Tally! I also love that so many of their food is sourced from local, seasonal, and organic farms and businesses. My only suggestion would be to create a spinach tortelloni version for vegans. Note for out-of-towners - don't expect the same quality as an upscale restaurant in NYC or LA but this is the best that it gets in Tally!

Pros: Lots of interesting vegan options, Excellent food, Mostly local/seasonal/organic when possible

Cons: Expensive - but it is fine-dinning & local/organic, No spinach tortelloni version for vegans
