Lovely gem

Had a wonderful experience, surprised to find a vegan restaurant of such good quality so close to Nishiki Market.

Pros: Burgers were good , Pancakes were delicious!!, They have a waiter fluent in English and German

Cons: Curry was slightly bland (we asked for hot sauce), Food takes a long time (about an hour), Long wait time (come early!!)

One of the best burgers ever!

Everything was amazing here. The Ripple Cheeseburger is one of the best burgers I’ve had, and I eat a lot of veggie burgers. The other two sandwiches were just as good! I went here four times in the week I spent in Kyoto.

Pros: Amazing all-vegan menu, Nice staff, good service

Cons: None!

A blessing in Japan for Vegans

In a country where English is not spoken or understood and even a vegetarian ramen could contain fish sauce, this place was like a blessing. My wife is a vegan and we were struggling until we found this cosy little place in Kyoto. It's a Vegan restaurant and therefore no chance of going wrong. To add, the waiter (Tom,) could speak English and served with a smile! The food was amazing! Slightly expensive but not something which will make a hole in your pocket. Overall a great experience!!

Pros: Great Ambience, Amazing food

Cons: Slightly Expensive

Best “chicken” I ever had!

Sadly by the time I have arrived (1h before closing) most main dishes were sold out but still glad I’ve tried the side dishes and honestly the “chicken” was to die for!
Will try to go back to try a main dish.

Kyoto’s Gem

We came a bit late and our first choice, which was the cheeseburger, was already sold out. We ordered the other two (cutler and soy chicken burger). Amazing both! Additionally we tried deep fried soy cutlets and Kara-age. Everything was so tasty. The service was great and fast. So happy to finally have a tasteful dinner and not the ”usual” watery soups at the non vegan restaurants.
I have to say, and this is personal preference, the decoration style wasn’t my taste, but of course we came for the food. Just saying
For sure will visit it again

Pros: Everything was vegan , Very easy to find , Timing

Volveré.... I will be back

Agradable ambiente en pleno centro de Kyoto, burguers deliciosas acompañadas de french fries, además de otras delicias veganas, totalmente recomendable,no es fácil encontrar un sitio así para veganos por aquí.

Pros: Muchas opciones veganas

Cons: Quizas el precio, pero lo bueno se paga.

Already can’t wait to come back

Seated right away, English speaking staff is nice but not necessary as the menu is super clear and well done with photos and descriptions. They let us know that the matcha pancake would take 20 minutes, which is awesome to know ahead of time.

The dessert is amazing. It’s everything you want it to be and more. The coffee is great and well priced as a set with the dessert. Would love to come again.

A vegetarian with allergies

I am a vegetarian with many food allergies, vegan food that I can eat can be hard for me to find. Here everything is very clear and I found many things I could enjoy! The food is also incredibly delicious and the staff is very friendly. 10/10 would recommend for anyone, even meat eaters!

Pros: Great food, Friendly staff, Fair pricing

Cons: A little hard to find if you don’t know the way

Super cozy, fresh flavours

We found this place by accident and were very happy about it, they’ve got a selection of vegan burgers and other plates. We got the green curry and mushroom soup and both were delicious and very filling. They also give you a free dessert if you leave a review and they deserve a 10/10 one :))

Pros: Location, Cozy atmosphere , Wide selection

Get the seasonal parfait!

The burgers here are great, the taco rice is great as in other locations but the star of the show in Kyoto is the seasonal parfait! You thought I was going to say matcha pancakes? They're ok but the parfait for Halloween and Spring are amazing!

Pros: Good food, Good dessert, Good location

Cons: A bit pricey, Sometimes food is sold out, Get here before 4pm as it closes before dinner

Tasty

We tried nearly all the dishes they serve and all were amazing. My family were visiting me from England, and are both vegan, and they were really impressed. The Burger was incredible too, it doesn’t taste too much like meat. And it does have a very nice sauce, and texture, which makes it just as moreish.

Pros: Lots of options , Nice atmosphere + friendly

Cons: No cons, expensive but worth it

Nice Veg restaurant in Kyoto

Ain Soph.Journey is located in the famous shopping street in the centre of Kyoto. It is a super convenience dining place for Vegans and Vegetarians, as you know it is relatively difficult to find a Veg restaurant in Japan.

The restaurant has two level, about 16 seats for each, not a big shop but you will feel comfortable when you are sitting here as there are lots of room between tables.

Food options here included hamburgers and rice plates and others side dishes. And it would be a good news to you if you are sweettooth, as there are many choices of desserts.

I had hamburger set dinner here. The hamburger with soy steak taste good but the sauce is a bit salty for me, it would be great if there is another sauces option. Salad with nuts and corn chips with fresh tomato sauce are good.

Pros: Convenience , Friendly staffs, Comfortable place

Cons: Less option for main dishes

Amazing burgers!

Ain Soph has the best vegan cheese burger in Kyoto. Seriously amazing food. It had a great atmosphere and friendly staff. The only downside is the high cost, making this more of a treat than a regular hang out, but it’s worth a visit at least once!

Pros: Great food, Lots of vegan choices, Friendly staff

Cons: Expensive , Can get busy

Delicious!

Cozy space and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I had the classic burger and it was great. The side of fries that comes with the burger is very small compared to American standards but was really is probably all the fries you need ;)

Pros: 100% vegan menu

Great atmosphere, lots of choice

Hidden at the tail end of Nishiki market in Kyoto, this restaurant with a mouthful of a name was a fantastic find while traveling with my vegan, gluten-free sister who couldn't go to the usual places I go to.

The staff are super polite, the service is speedy (not the norm in most vegan restaurants, I've found), and the food is good. The menu clearly indicates which items contain gluten or certain possible allergens, and the English is comprehensible.

Avoid the cheeseburger if you don't like mushy fake meat (taste was okay, but under sauced and bland), but the dishes we tried were great.

Pros: Friendly, speedy service, Lots of choice, Menu is clear with lots of info

Cons: Pricey (A lot of vegan restaurants are), The cheeseburger is under sauced and mushy
