Un délice ! - Edit

THE place to eat vegan food in Lisbon - Edit
This is by far my favourite restaurant in Lisbon. I always make a point of eating there when I am in town.
Read moreFood is beyond superb, the staff is friendly and the only negative is really that the demand far outstrips supply. Reservations are a must if you really don't want to wait at the door for a good while.
Pricing is far from insane, I find that for the quality prices are really very reasonable.
Pros: Orgasmic food, Great environment, very friendly staff
Cons: Not easy to park nearby, Very busy (thankfully!) so must book ahead

Great - Edit
We were really impressed with the food..
Read moreWe first had a couvert, with bread, olive oil, an amazing basil and mint paste, plus a few lupines and olives. I would say the couvert was my only disappointment: although well presented, not a great quantity and the olives weren’t that great (I think any Portuguese restaurant should care for their olives...). However, the green paste really made it worth it!
We drank unsweetened lemonade. It was good.
I had a lentil burger with extra mushrooms and a small salad on the side. It was easily one of the best burgers I’ve had! The side salad was small, but went perfectly with the burger.
My partner had two toasts, one vegetable-based and the other cheddar cheese-based, both with pesto I think. They were really good!
These 3 dishes were served on “bolo do caco” (traditionally from Madeira). It was an alright version.
Finally, I had a raw pie, based on dry fruits, and again it was amazing. My partner had a crème brûlée, pretty good.
I thought many of the dishes had unexpected twists, and they worked really well!
We found the price reasonable. The place was really well decorated and had a good, calm environment (we went way past lunch time).
The server was very nice (unexpectedly formal?).
The place was great and we loved it! It’s amazing that Ao 26 could pack such an amazing food, service, decoration and environment at a relatively small price! Bravo!

Amazing food! ! - Edit
Really nice atmosphere in this restaurant, with a nice decoration. The food options are really good, generous portions and high quality food, super tasty and not expensive. They offer daily menu and chef suggestions, along with a la carte options. We tried the burgers and their sweet potato fries are amazing!! We had just one desert for the two of us (we were already pretty full with the food) and it so good! ! It is hard to find such good vegan cakes!!

Best vegan restaurant in Lisbon - Edit
This place is without doubt the best vegan restaurant I’ve been to! Even before ordering you get a good feeling just due to the staff being so friendly, warm and welcoming. Ordered the cheese-plate for starter, which was beautifully served. It really tasted like actual cheese, and was very well spiced! The portion size was also really good. Chose the Lentil Burger for main dish, which tasted phenomenal! Such well done combining different flavours to create a unique sensation. For dessert I chose the Raw Cake (salted caramel). The cake was free from both sugar and gluten, which suited me perfectly! It was delicious, with a touch of cinnamon! If you visit Lisbon, this place is a must-visit!

Rushed out before we finished - Edit
We got a message the day of our reservation that our 7:30pm table would need to be finished by 9pm. We arrived before they opened at 7:30 and there was a line. By the time we were seated, it was 7:45. We ordered a bottle of wine, appetizers and entrees. We wanted to get dessert as we were celebrating a birthday but we had run out of time and we weren’t able to finish the wine or order dessert. The food was good and service was friendly but we were disappointed at being rushed out of the restaurant.

Hello Kristally, as we wrote on our message, unfortunately there was a mistake with the bookings. We had this option, as we told you, or a shared table. Unfortunately, human mistakes happen. We hope it will not determine any next visits to our space. Still, we are very glad you enjoyed the experience! Happy late birthday :)

The best vegan restaurant in Lisbon, by far! - Edit
Ao 26 is by far the best vegan restaurant of Lisbon. We went there three times and were each time very excited and satisfied. The lunch menu consists mainly of sandwiches, burgers and snacks that were plenty of flavors and really satisfying. Try the pesto sandwich with extra mushrooms and cheese and the bifana de seitan: they're very tasty. For dinner, the menu is different and very qualitative. They have an amazing platter of homemade cheese that is a heaven for the mouth. Their franceshina is huge and amazing, so you have to try it at least once. Their desserts are also very yummy and the whole experience is excellent, for a decent price. Make sure to book a table since they have a lot of success. I'm looking forward to come here again!

Make reservations or get there early! - Edit
We were so lucky to snag the last non-reserved table (actually seated sharing with another couple) just 10 minutes after lunchtime opening! Dinner weekends are booked way ahead. The soup & dish of the day is a good deal at €9 because it was beautiful, delicious gourmet food! Make reservations for both lunch and dinner!

Hands down! - Edit
Hands down the best vegan food I habe EVER eaten so far. We had a mediterranean polenta and a mushroom, peas, millet pie which was like a lasagna. Both with salad on the side. It was soooo delicious and inspirational. The desert?! Peanutbutter-Oreo-Chocolate cake!!! With two words: F**king delicious. I’d probably kill for the recipe. This chef is amazing. Even though the place was super crowded, we received our dishes super fast. Completely satisfied!

Fabulous food. Fabulous service. Menu explained well. Good selection on the menu. For starter we shared pumpkin leaves I think it was called - it was just amazing a complete culinary experience . For main I had the beetroot burger - amazing. My partner chose the tofu with cornbread which I think translates to herb crusted tofu (no corn bread as we know it) as the tofu wasn’t marinated it didn’t really taste of anything but came with fabulous potatoes and chestnuts. Desert was chocolate peanut butter pie - again amazing! We will certainly be back.
