Great vegan menu - Edit
We visited Wong Gok in March 2025 and were very impressed. When we arrived at the restaurant every table had a copy of the vegan menu available without having to ask for it. We ordered spring rolls to start followed by a chow mein with tofu and szechuan style tofu with veggies and rice. The food was delicious and the portions very generous so it felt like really good value for money. They don't sell alcohol although I think you can bring your own. They provided water free of charge and made sure we had enough. The member of staff who served us was lovely. Definitely recommend if you're visiting Dunedin.

It was a super good fried rice that I ate here !! A big portion of it (I had to ask to take away my leftovers) and super cheap!! It’s tasty and the staff there is very nice ! I recommend for sure !

Vegan options well marked on menu - Edit
A decent number of vegan options on the menu - plus they’re all listed on a separate vegan menu too, which was brought out unprompted when we arrived with the main menu. We tried the corn soup, Szechuan tofu and veges, and the chow mein - all the dishes were pretty big, had plenty of tofu and veges, and tasted great. #Veganuary

Everybody is really kind, they have a separate vegan menu (ask for it) with quite a few options and it’s delicious! And the portions are big for the money you pay for them.

Wong Gok now have a separate vegan menu, so make sure to ask for it when you arrive. A good range of Chinese dishes, and very friendly staff who are always happy to try and accommodate any requests.

Really great chinese food - Edit
I went there with 2 of my omni friends. I wasnt quite sure if they would know what vegan is, so instead started ordering by asking for the things i know idont eat to be swaped or out, she quickly said “oh are you vegan?” when i said yes she was super confident making suggestions to make dishes vegan. Tried the vegetable fried rice(no eggs), vegetable chow mein (she suggested to swap the egg noodles for rice noodles) AMAZING chow mein with those thick ribbon rice noodles, and the fried tofu and vege dish. All delicious and good size portion to share. She also came to me saying they are working on a vegan menu! So will be looking for it next time i come down this way.
