More Woe, Mama, Than Whoa, Mama! - Edit
Seeking a respectably decent meal, I looked to this usually a dependable establishment to adequately meet my needs. Unfortunately, I got slightly less than I bargained for, even given my rather meagre requirements.
Read moreWhether it was the case an off-day, or perhaps I had just become accustomed to better, nothing on the order inspired any real feelings of excitement or joy; it was all edible, but not much more than that. Both the yasai yaki soba and the pad Thai were rather lacklustre and lacking any real identity, and the gyoza were a marginal step up in quality, though not especially praiseworthy. The only truly adequate items were the coconut rice with the Katsu sauce, a fact that only further highlights the deficiencies of other dishes that these auxiliary items stole the show.
Overall, perhaps this was a valuable(and relatively pricey) lesson in seeking out authenticity rather than convenience when the time allows. It’s hard to say whether I would be tempted to revisit this chain after this experience. Time will tell.
