Good, but not great!

My wife has a soy allergy and they cook most of their food in soy oil.
Its good but could use some help.
All she could get to eat was rice and queso. The rice was bland and the cheese sauce/queso was ok.
I had the El Jefe with red chili sauce and it was pretty good.
They should use a better oil and raise the prices on their menu. Cheap soy oil is not the way to go.
Also a little salt goes a long way.

Pros: The El Jefe is huge.

Cons: Food is cooked in soy oil.

Best Vegan Restaurant

We've been eating Vegos since they were a small pop-up years ago. The food has continuously been amazing! The relleno is my absolute favorite dish but honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu!

Pros: Freshly made, Flavorful, Friendly owners

INCREDIBLE!

I've been a frequent customer at this spot for a few months now. Every single thing I've tried on the menu (most of the items by now) has been fantastic. The staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy. I would highly recommend either the Sandia burrito or the "Garbonzorizo" breakfast burrito. Did I mention the bang for your buck as well? Fries for $1.75. A HUGE burrito for $9-12.
It's definitely my favorite vegan spot in town, and I could not recommend it enough to anyone who enjoys New Mexican food.

Pros: Price to portion ratio, Friendly staff, Diverse menu

Really great food!

While waiting for our food, we ate 3 gluten-free berry empanadas which were delightful. My 7 year old won’t touch vegan cheese, potatoes, or rice. I asked if they could make a plain bean and cheez burrito for her. She absolutely loved it and never questioned the cheez because it was delicious. My husband got the handheld Sandia burrito with tofu and ate it over two sittings. Both had sopapillas and said they were great. No honey - they had a sweet sopa syrup. I’m gluten-free and they made me an El Jefe burrito bowl (no tortilla), without onions (sensitivity). It was gigantic and made two meals. They use lions mane in the burrito, and it was so good, I’m craving another only one day later. I am really sensitive to all food I can’t cook myself, and I didn’t feel sick after eating the food at Vegos. SUPER WIN!!! Amazing vegan food, lots of gluten free options, and the green and red chile were tasty! Highly recommend. #Veganuary

Pros: Fresh ingredients, Friendliness of staff to accommodate, Smells amazing in the little restaurant

Fantastic!!!

I’m so glad we stopped here. This place is one of the best vegan restaurants we’ve ever been to. We had the stuffed sopapilla, the chili relleno, and the loco tostarito. They were all delicious and we had a hard time deciding which we liked best they were all sooo good. 5 stars!!!!

Pros: Loco Tostarito, Stuffed Sopapilla, Chili relleno

So tasty and great portions

The chipotle flavour in the Sandia Burrito was amazing, as was the Chile Relleno. Lots of desert options too. Omni friends loved it.

Can't miss New Mexican vegan food!

This is by far our favorite place in Albuquerque! Visiting family for a few days at a time, we always make at least one, often more than one, trip to Vegos. They have a great burrito selection with a nice variety of proteins (tofu, seitan, jackfruit), packed with flavor with or without going "LOCO." It's hard to choose what to order, so luckily the staff is very friendly, helpful, and opinionated (in a good way). We've gotten big orders for non-vegans, who have all been very happy and satisfied as well.

Pros: Good selection, Tons of flavor, Nice staff

Flavorful, filling and fresh New Mexican cuisine!

This was my partner and I's first time trying New Mexican cuisine and we fell in love. I ordered the Sandia burrito and he picked the stuffed sopapilla w/ seitan. The burrito had a good heft to it and popped with flavor and spice. I wasn't able to finish the entire thing in one sitting and saved it for later. I loved how the mild sweetness of the sweet potato complimented the spiced chipotle mayo and creamy guac. My partner devoured his sopapilla and raved about the chile. We will definitely miss having this spot so close by when we are back home in Los Angeles. I wish we would have tried some of their desserts and agua fresca! I can foresee us coming back here more than once to sample the rest of the menu whenever we are in Albuquerque again.

Note: We ordered for takeout so cannot attest to the indoor dining experience, but the staff were very friendly and our order came out surprisingly quickly.

Good, but not fabulous

The prices were really high for the portions. My husband and I both left hungry. We ordered a dessert empanada and I kid you not, it wasn’t much larger than a pot sticker.

The fries which weren’t cheap were about the size and taste of a kid sized order of fries from McDonalds.

We were disappointed and won’t go back.

Seitan Burrito was Yum!

I ordered green chili queso fries and a seitan burrito half red half green sauce. It was delicious and surprisingly large - I couldn’t finish it all.

Came again and tried their NCMC (Nobody Calls Me Chicken) sandwich with chipotle mayo and on a concha bun as recommended by the staff! It was sooooooo goooood! 🔥
