Some reviews need an update - Edit
Contrary to some reviews, they did accept my credit card. The restaurant told me that they accept MC and Visa.
Read moreSecond, the best that I can tell the restaurant is entirely vegan. That's also what they told me.
Third, the food was excellent! I had the soup of the day and their special salad. I'll be going back ASAP. It seemed like the most healthy meal that I ever had in The Hague.
Finally, it's not hard to get there -- five minutes walk off of tram line 9.
Pros: Tastes great., Feels healthy., Few other vegan choices in The Hague.
Cons: None really that I can think of.

Good homemade food - Edit
Went there with 2 vegans, 2 meat eaters, and one completely oblivious child. Some of the food was amazing, some not so much but still alright. The way they make oven potatoes is incredible, make sure to try those. The desserts were hit or miss, although the icecream was great.
Read moreThe staff was exceptionally friendly, for example they accommodated a picky child's wishes.
The price is a little high but I would still go there again on special occasions.

Amazing for vegans - Edit
Went here as a group of 2 vegans, 3 non-vegans. The burger was not liked, maybe because bean burgers taste less like meat than cheap meat substitute burgers. The raw food is delicious though, even for a non-vegan. The soup had not much flavour. Neither did the seitan and tofu, but the herbs, sauce and spices that surrounded it were AMAZING. Best taste ever. Mayonnaise was also really good, for the burger as well. And: everything is home-made.
Read moreDo: get the tofu, seitan or raw food.
Don't: get the burger
Pros: Amazing mayonaise, Amazing spices, sauce and herbs, Amazing what they can do with raw food
Cons: Tofu / seitan could use more flavour of their own

one star less for the prices - Edit
Great food, but not great enough for how expensive it is. I don't understand why veggie restaurants think they can overcharge - maybe they see themselves as exotic? I'm not sure. I would definitely eat there again because the food was delicious, but not somewhere I'll go super frequently due to the prices

OK - Edit
I have not been vegan for all that long so it is always a joy to find a restaurant that caters to ones desires. The food I ate here was OK, but nothing surprising. The prices were high enough to make me hope for something great, instead of questioning my decision to be a vegan.

Best vegan restaurant in Den Haag - Edit
Absotuley loved this plant based restaurant! I live in the States and was referred to them by a friend, and since my sister lives in Den Haag it was a perfect opportunity to visit! I felt so warm and welcomed here. The staff is full of love and care, and the venue is super cozy, food tastes absolutely amazing! I REALLY liked the seaweed croquettes and plan to visit again just for this! A must visit!

Simply amazing - Edit
I went to Veggies on Fire with the highest expectations, given what I read on HappyCow... and I was not disappointed.
Read moreI felt really welcome, and they even served me some raw vegetables with an almond sauce which was very good. Then I had the garlic bread with olives as a starter (about 7 euros), the asparagus with seitan and roasted potatoes (21 euros), and I even ordered the ice cream as dessert (7 euros). Everything was really amazing, and everything was explained to me by the friendly waitresses.
Yes, it's more expensive than your standard restaurant in The Hague, but if you go there you won't regret it! :--)
Pros: Incredible food, Friendly and informative staff
Cons: More expensive than your standard restaurant

Great food, great place - Edit
We had a very warm welcome here, the atmosphere was very cosy, and were helped overall very well by the waitresses. The food was great. We had some Raw-food dishes for the first time in our lives - we are very sceptical towards the claimed benefits, and also didn't believe it could be really tasty, therefore never tried any - which had however excellent taste. The brownie dessert was really, really good - at home, I make brownie myself regularly, but this was way better. We will definitely make another visit soon.

Tasty, 'simple' food - Edit
We ate here on a lovely sunny evening and ordered the raw salad, asparagus with seitan schnitzel and the chipotle burger. Their menu changes with the seasons, spring menu was on since 3 weeks.
Read moreThe food was good. Dishes weren't super creative or original but definitely very tasty. I liked the seitan schnitzel a lot, firm and crispy as I hoped. Staff warned that the burger might be very spicy. It was just perfect for me, but I enjoy spicy food. The oven potatoes weren't made in oil but water. Still they were quite crispy and as tasty as when using oil. I don't mind the use of oil, but for those who do it's a nice plus.
Staff was really friendly and attentive, waiting time between dishes was perfect (I'm commenting on this since other reviewers complained).
I found the prices a little on the expensive side, but then again portions are quite big. I barely finished my plate and I eat a lot normally.
The location is not really scenic or attractive, but the restaurant is not to blame for that obviously. It's a bit away from the centre as well, which could be a downside for some.
Walking through the city to Veggies on Fire we spotted another vegan place and walking back I spotted a vegan supermarket. Could times finally be changing? ;)
Pros: friendly staff, tasty food, big portions
Cons: prices, location

Thoughtfully prepared - Edit
Incredible meal, from drinks through dessert, thoughtfully prepared by a wonderful, friendly couple in a beautiful atmosphere. In Europe we found a plethora of fake meat based restaurants (not complaining, they were good too!) so it was a nice respite to enjoy a meal based on scrumptious, fresh vegetables, perfectly prepared. Highly recommend a stop here.

Loaded plates of veg stuff - Edit
This place is a good example of vegetarian restaurants these days. The main dish, a veg burger, was loaded. The wine list was minimalistic, the personel friendly. The bill however was very real and frankly excessive in relation to the meal.

Good food, nice people - Edit
After many good reviews on this site and others, we gave it a try. First impression was perfect; the room very cosy, the owners very friendly and welcoming. They even did the effort of making a less spicy burger for my two year old. Still I wouldn't recommend the place for parents with children, as the waiting time is extremely long. We had to wait more than an hour between the starter and the main course, which is long and with a child way too long (and we did arrive as one of the first ones). The food itself was really nice; raw sushi being the absolute best. And the kale chips as a start was a nice touch. My partner was less impressed by the tempeh Chimichurrie. The cashew cream was amazing. And we would have loved to stay for the desert, which looked very delicious, but had to go home, since it was getting way too late for the little one. In short; I recommend this place, but not if you are in a relative hurry.

Wonderful food, great atmosphere! - Edit
The dishes are very creative, with great flavour combinations and beautiful presentation.
Read moreThe seasonal menus have gluten-free and raw vegan options too, and if you have any other food allergies, just let the staff know and the food you order will be prepared accordingly.
And make sure you leave room for desserts!!
Not the cheapest of places, but the high standard of the food is definitely worth it.
