Fully Vegan Sushi Place - Edit
Beautifully presented sushi, lovely waitress and we happen to go in during their anniversary event where some of their menu items were 20% off.

Great sushi spot - Edit
Well priced sushi in a well decorated, traditional Japanese restaurant. Staff was friendly and helpful in choosing from their huge menu. The sushi itself looked beautiful but it’s not quite a five star as the flavours in some of the sushi I ordered was not quite strong enough of either crab or salmon.

Good Japanese option in Kerrisdale - Edit
Sushi, ramen, udon, vegan "sashimi," and a variety of other options either a la carte or in combinations. Quality varies somewhat. Sushi is typically great, but noodle dishes can be overcooked (no one wants mushy udon) and seasoning off. Food generally looks beautiful. Probably best to go when it's not busy so more care is given to the product that is brought to your table.

Lots of gluten-free items and they always do their best to avoid gluten cross-contamination. I’ve always felt like we were well taken care of and the food is delicious.

Vegan Sushi Spot - Edit
Delicious food and beautiful presentation as well. So nice this place is fully vegan, lots of options. My friends are more of the sushi people than me and were super impressed (they're not vegan either, but loved the food). Also their spring rolls - 10/10 !

So many options - Edit
I highly recommend the Paradise Roll
Read moreI was hesitant to try the eggplant salmon because I don’t like fishy but it wasn’t fishy at all and the eggplant was perfectly cooked to melt in my mouth
I would skip the gyozas and try something else. There are so many beautiful options!
The miso soup was a nice appetite stimulant - it was light on the salt, which was nice because I dip my rolls into soy sauce so it’s always a heavy salt meal.

Best Vegan Sushi Ever - Edit
This completely vegan sushi restaurant will even impress non-vegans. I would know because I dragged two non-vegans to lunch here! This is honestly the best vegan sushi I’ve ever had. Get the Salmon on Fire! But everything is great.

Ordered delivery - Edit
I have ordered delivery or pick from here multiple times and loved it every time. I would BOGO on uber with the roll that was deep fried and it was phenomenal. I can’t speak to the atmosphere of the restaurant because I only did take out but the limited interactions I had with the staff they were very friendly and the sushi was delicious. I did not really like the miso soup but every roll I got was great. The only negative was it’s a little pricey but I think it’s pretty on par with most sushi restaurants

Great place to try! Inventive! - Edit
I’m glad we made the detour to Kerrisdale to try this place. Such a huge array of vegan sushi with really creative uses of vegetables and mock salmon and tuna. One dish we had was almost flavourless (one of the rolls on the platter), but the rest were quite good. The atmosphere inside was very peaceful although typical Vancouver sushi restaurant-style. I would go back to try more. I highly recommend the “tuna” and avocado pressed sushi! #Veganuary

Beautiful Bites of Bliss - Edit
The first thing you notice here is how beautiful the food looks – each piece of sushi is a little work of art! It’s the kind of place where you’ll want to snap a quick photo before digging in. The flavors and textures are just as incredible as they look, with each bite offering something unique and delicious.
Read moreA quick heads-up: if you have any allergies, definitely ask the staff for guidance since they aren’t marked on the menu. But everyone is so friendly and helpful that it’s no trouble at all! Prices are a bit on the higher side, but for the quality and experience, it’s totally worth it. I’ll happily make the trip to Kerrisdale again for this place!
Pros: Beautiful sushi, Delicious food, Great service

Very good! - Edit
We didn’t order very much and I think it was about $100 with tip for the two of us. We had been recommended to order more but we had just finished bubble teas and weren't very hungry. Waitress was incredible so friendly, chatty and made us laugh. She recommended local favourites, we got Shoku Rolls, Paradise Rolls (very sweet like dessert almost), and ‘Salmon’ oshi. Really enjoyed the Oshi had never tried that before! We also had matcha ice cream for dessert, portion was quite big to share.

Worth it - Edit
I spend most of my time in the lower mainland but Kerrisdale always still feels far for some reason, but it is always so very worth it. It’s not far off the Arbutus Greenway if cycling out for sushi is your thing. Everything about this place from the atmosphere, to the staff to the food is excellent.

Vegan beef dinner box!!! Enough said - Edit
If you read this review and don’t order the beef dinner box, shame on you. Shame. In all seriousness though, you’ve gotta try it!! You won’t be disappointed. The drive from Bellingham to Vancouver just to visit Vegan Shoku is always worth it. Okay now stop reading and just order the damn bento box!😄And don’t forget to order a decadent oshi roll

Authentic flavors, huge selection, and everything was fresh and high quality. Great customer service and everything was immaculate, will definitely return. Favorite roll was the crunch roll, perfect layers of crunchy and creamy, and the spam roll was full of umami, least favorite was the spicy tofu roll (wish it had been cooked or fried, tasted like soft tofu straight out the package).

Cannot recommend this place enough!!! - Edit
I had been wanting to come to Vegan Shoku for a while and it absolutely lived up to my expectations. I had the chicken bento box and my partner had the beef one. We also shared gyoza. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Non-vegans wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference! Definitely worth the 1.5 hour drive up from Bellingham. I will be back for sure!
