Good sushi, better service - Edit
The service was very good. The sushi was also good but the rice quality lacked a bit. Still giving them 5 for everything else.

Salmon on fire!! - Edit
Had a really good time here, will definitely come back!! Here are the things I've tried:
Read more(1) Eggplant salmon - Super creamy and decadent. Great textures. Comes in plate of 5 pieces, so good for sharing. May be a bit heavy if you have more than 2 pieces.
(2) Vegan takoyaki - Taste is almost same as traditional Takoyaki and texture is a bit firmer but overall good regardless. Would get again!
(3) Unagi roll - Pretty good, could use bit more unagi sauce for my own preference. Prob won't get again cus it wasn't that special and I'd want to try other things.
(2) Salmon on Fire - This was definitely my favourite one! The main salmon topping piece is the same as that in the eggplant salmon, so I would avoid getting both. I prefer this roll much more since the rice balances the heavier flavours from the salmon.
Reservations available.
Pros: Big menu, so many options, Everything was really good, A good number of commute options (Bus 41, 16, etc)

Everything I've tried is so good! - Edit
Been in person and ordered take out from here and everything has always been so tasty. They have such a variety of rolls and loads of options you typically don't get with vegan sushi.

Great service and variety! Delicious! - Edit
Loved the service! I tried Eggplant Salmon, Spam sushi, vegetable gyoza. I don’t drink alcohol and they told me every drink is non-alcoholic. I had a delicious red wine with 0.0 alcohol content. I highly appreciate their guidance in ordering the food and drinks. Enjoyed everything! They gave me a discount coupon for my next visit. I’ll surely go back. 😄

Great sushi! Lots of choices - Edit
Update:
Read moreWent for dinner and it was great! Got the spicy tofu appetizer, the tofu teriyaki dinner box, and the Classic combo roll plate. All was delicious 😋 really surprised by the California roll! And the pressed sushi on the teriyaki plate was spicy and a bit smoky, really fantastic.
We were stuffed by the end 👏🏼
The servers were very kind and made sure we knew it was a vegan place and asked if we have any dietary restrictions or issues with garlic, onions, or spice.
They said that all the vegan fish alternatives are made from tofu or Japanese potatoes/yams.
My only criticism is that the sauce for the spicy tofu appetizer lacked spice and was more watery soy sauce base but the fried tofu was soft and light.
Overall great sushi place! Really glad this place is in Van!

We got the inari and avocado sushi rolls and they were awesome 👏🏼

Good sushis - Edit
The starters weren’t very good (dumplings, miso soup and edamame). The sushis tasted good but it would have taken sauce (other than soy sauce) to be great. Overall a bit bland, but I would still go back.

Largest Ⓥ sushi menu in town! - Edit
I’ll definitely be going back to Shoku even with the drive to get there. Is this Riley Park? I’m new to Canada so not exactly sure in the neighborhood but it’s a very nice neighborhood for sure! The restaurant is in the business blocks here and I search for parking but it was free with a few block walk. The dining room is nice sized and the staff super friendly and fun. Music playing was classic rock radio at lunch hour which also was fun. In Vancouver, I know of one other Ⓥ sushi (nigiri) spot and two other sushi spots with notable full Ⓥ menus. But Shoku is absolutely the largest, most comprehensive menu of all four. Nigiri, hand rolls, sushi rolls, inari, poke, Don bowls, ramen, apps, desserts and more! We had the poke bowl and I’m not usually a poke fan but this bowls had everything - seaweed salad, edamame, lotsa fresh veggies, greens, rice and mock salmon - it was like a salad bowl that I love! Everything is yummy and I’ll def go back.

Delicious food served without delay and with a smile - Edit
Big selection of sushi, poke, teriyaki, udon, combo dinner boxes. Everything fresh, very delicious and vegan. It is nice not to have to think so hard about what to order. We had the Spam Teriyaki Dinner Box and California (sushi) combo. The Dinner Box is very generous size. Sushi combo not so big, but delicious.

So Good - Edit
Vegan Shoku is a little on the pricey side compared to most sushi in town, but the food is unbelievable, the atmosphere is lovely, and the staff are very friendly and kind. They do delicious vegan versions of virtually everything you'd find on a typical sushi menu in Vancouver, which is such a delight. I wish it was closer to my home! I'll definitely be back.
