Ordered the Hakata ramen. Sooo good! (Just a note: the opening hours listed on Happy Cow aren’t current. When i went for lunch they opened at 1. Google had the correct hours.)

Read moreThis place had a very simple menu of 3 types of ramen and a few side dishes. The foodwas beautifully decorated and tasted really good, and was able to convince my non-vegan family. One could definitely tell that the owner put much effort and love into his food.

Erstmal zur Wegfindung, an der angegebenen Adresse liefen wir, und noch zwei andere Jungs erstmal fast um den Block, weil kein Schild den Namen zeigt. Schaut hoch und seht das kleine Lokal mit dem Schild Mondo Hirao.

Die Menükarte ist in englisch und japanisch, mit Bildern, gut lesbar. Wir probierten einiges aus, und alles traf unseren Geschmack. Manche würden es salzig oder fettig nennen, ich nenne es super lecker und wärmend!
Eine kräftige Brühe mit Gemüse und Nudeln, perfekt für einen ruhigen Abend. Trotzdem war es leichte Kost, die nicht stopfte. Besonders gemundet hat mir auch das "Crispy Cried Tofu Asuage with warming Ginger Glaze". Super lecker und ich hätte dies gerne auch alles bei mir Zuhause.

Very delicious Ramen - Edit
I tried the spicy sesame ramen and they were so tasty that I went back a few days later to try the Hakata Ramen, too. Both are highly recommended, with a very rich broth and harmonious condiments. The homemade ginger ale was also very good! The owner is very kind and the restaurant had a great atmosphere.

Best ramen in Japan - Edit
This small Restaurant Server 3 different Ramen, I had the Sesame Chili and it was really rich in flavor and soo creamy. I can recommend sitting at the bar seats, the chef was really nice and friendly and explained what he was putting in the Ramen, great experience. If you are in Fukuoka you have to visit this place.

Sublime Hakata style ramen, and a great peaceful atmosphere sitting at the counter and watching the owner cook. It's a place that feels truly like an experience somehow, but still warm and unpretentious - I felt comfortable here alone even before other customers arrived. They did all look delicious but I'm not sure how people are able to order sides, the ramen was so rich and filling that I was struggling to finish! Left very full and happy.

I eat a lot of ramen but this place served maybe the best tasting rich broths I've ever had. I got the vegan ramen set, and it had a soybased rich broth that had a slight hint of spiciness. The sliced black fungus had a nice texture in the ramen, and the noodles paired well.

The mildly spicy tomato ramen is not too spicy.
They managed to do different dishes with similar ingredients.
The potato noodle (yes, both!!) salad is sooo delicious!
Umeshu soda is very sweet here (if you like it like that ;)).

This place is great. The food was delicious and the owner is very friendly. There are three ramen to choose from and some side dishes. All is 100% vegan. When sitting at the counter you can see how the food is prepared. There are just a few places to sit, so you might have to wait. But it is worth it!

The menu isn't massive so food can be made quickly by one chef who also takes the orders. A kitchen that aims to serve the local cuisine adapted for vegans always allows me to feel included, I felt very thankful! The crispy soy was delicious! Very crispy on the outside and very soft and creamy on the inside. On the menu 3 options for ramen and a selection of side dishes.

My favourite meal from my trip to Japan - Edit
I went here on my first night in Fukuoka and had the Hakata Ramen Set. Every course was delicious, but the ramen itself and the vegan tiramisu for dessert were particular highlights. As a usual fast eater, I found myself slowing down just because I didn't want the meal to end!

Exceptional! Full of flavour and the broth so rich and creamy. We ate here twice during our one week’s stay in Fukuoka. Being a vegetarian I was ready to forego enjoying this city’s culinary indulgences, so all the more I was surprised and delighted! I personally loved the Hakata-style ramen and the karaage and pair with their vegan sake. Chef super friendly, warm and welcoming.

We arrived along with 2 other groups and the empty restaurant (opened 5 minutes earlier) was almost full instantly. Nevertheless, the owner and cook and waiter (yes one person did everything) has been amazing, managed to take every order and served everyone quite fast. He kindly explained to us how to drink sake and the ramen were delicious. Careful, even the not spicy were a bit spicy for my french taste buds. We even had a chat with the owner thanks to Google Translate (he understood English but did not speak it well) and left him french candies to thank him. Really, go there
