Worth a try - Edit
We had the sushi and it’s been the first I’ve had as a vegan. It was very delicious but the cream cheese flavor was very strong for my taste buds.

I've been coming to Vegan plate for nearly seven years now. They now offer vegan sushi rolls, and they are AMAZING!!! You can't really go wrong with any of their food. Service is excellent each time I have come.

I finally found some vegan seitan orange chicken! Vegan plate has great food, their black rice is delicious too! You also have to try their deserts! My husband isn’t vegan and he loves everything on this menu.

Best Thai Food - Edit
I have a Thai food addiction, and this is the best Thai food place I've ever eaten at. A lot of the times ethnic eateries that are all vegan don't offer food thats as good as the more limited vegan options at comparable omnivorous restaurants, but Vegan Plate exceeds those places in quality. Their peanut sauce is addictingly good, and their orange chicken is honestly one of the best things I've ever had.

Phenomenal food - Edit
Loved the food more than most restaurants I’ve been to in years (which includes before I went vegan). Everything we had was spot on, such bright flavors, everything done to the max. They have soy shrimp which tastes amazing and very much like seafood. They offer tons of flexibility and everything’s vegan so you can try anything you want no matter who you are. Can’t recommend it highly enough
Read morePros: Top-tier mock meat/seafood, Great flavor, Low-key, cozy neighborhood spot feel
Cons: Decor is basic and cozy, but hardly a fair con, Space is a little small

Amazing vegan food - Edit
My partner and I are pescatarian but she has a shellfish allergy too so we cant ever do Thai food bc it's often contaminated. So we were excited to find a vegan thai restaurant. And then, we were surprised at how good it is! The thai recipes are amazing and they have lots of protein options for each of their dishes. I love the orange chicken or the Tom yum soup. It's all amazing! They also deliver which is great too. Just try it and you wont be disappointed

The Best Thai in Chicago - Edit
My husband and I order from here at least once a week. It’s our favorite Thai place in Chicago - and we’ve been to many. It’s so nice not having to worry about any meat or seafood, since this place is fully vegan. Their green curry and orange chicken are our favorites.

Excellent Thai plus a few Japanese dishes. - Edit
I love this place and come monthly for dinner. It's such a relief to not have to worry about asking for no egg and no fish sauce in every dish when you order. Fake meats are not my thing and their menu is full of them. Specifically, why not just call the protein options: tofu, tempeh, seitan, etc. instead of "soy beef", "soy fish", "soy chicken", etc... For lifelong vegetarians this is a real put-off and so unappealing especially when the waitress says it has the texture of those meats. Eeew. I always order the tofu or just vegetables no fake meat.

Delicious! - Edit
We had lunch here with some family visiting Chicago today and it was so delicious! So many amazing Thai options without having to ask about fish sauce being an ingredient 😊 everything is vegan and the quality was great. My nonvegan family members also really enjoyed it. It’s also a good atmosphere for kids! They had a whole shelf of toys that entertained my toddler the whole time. Definitely a must if you’re in the area!

Very good - Edit
We’ve only eaten at the newer location twice and got take out from the previous location once, but everything was on point every time. All the faux meats have great texture and flavor. If you’re weirded out by faux seafood that tastes like real seafood, be warned. (To be fair I’ve only taken a bites of real fish or seafood a few times in my life and couldn’t swallow it) The type of (purple?) rice they serve with everything is unusual, delicious and really hearty.

Amazing Food - Edit
Absolutely love this place. I go here often, and it's probably my favorite restaurant in the city. Favorite dishes include, but are not limited to: Param's Plate, red curry with soy chicken, American broccoli with soy pepper steak, spicy eggplant, pad thai with soy chicken. It's always delicious.

My boyfriend and I come here at least once a month (which says a lot because we usually only eat out once or twice a month.) Tons of options and all delicious. Don’t pass up on the green curry or the spring rolls. Also, the salad dressing is so good I could drink it.

Very Tasty Thai - Edit
I love Vegan Plate. I like the people, I like the menu, and I like the food. I crave their Freshie Rolls. So good. This is the second of their two locations. Parking is generally easy, right outside the door, with no meters. The service is quick, the people are friendly, and the food never disappoints.

Combination of overcooked and undercooked, but even if it was cooked to perfection it would still taste bad. Not certain how the rating is so high. Would give this place one star but for some reason happy cow thought it best to hamstring users that paid for this app from expressing their true opinion. Straight up the food was awful. Based on the reviews it would seem that we got the one bad meal, however this review is based on our dining experience. Courteous staff is no excuse for inedible food. We did not finish our meal. It was that bad. Try it maybe you will get one the meals the great reviews received, but as for our experience the vegan plate is a place to avoid, even subway would have been preferable to the meal we received. To reiterate this is a one star restaurant at best. When compared to Chicago's offerings one star is too many. There was hair in our food. The orange chikin was void of veggies and cold in the middle, the pad Thai was filled with noodles that were simply cooked way too long (paste-like is a fitting description), and the satay was rubbery.

Pros: service - incredibly nice staff, The hair did not appear to belong to our server
