Amazing food, great atmosphere - Edit
I love this place. Monthly changing menu, fresh ingredients and a choice of 3-4 main dishes. We come here very often and always enjoy our meals!

Definitely worth a visit - Edit
Amazing! Everything we had was delicious. It's lovely to find German food made vegan. The garlic soup was so fresh and the curry sausage was excellent. Good service, nice place

Just what I wanted - Edit
I wanted to try some traditional German fare and was really happy to find this place. The waiter recommended their sauerbraten as one of their signature dishes. It was great! It came plated with kale and servietteknödel (sliced dumpling) The seitan was moist and tender and the knödel had a slightly crispy outside and soft inside. Very good. I highly recommend giving this place a try. It’s a small cozy spot and great for a date or small group. They did not have brunch on the Sunday I went but not sure if that was unusual. You can message them on WhatsApp to check and make reservations.

Vegan German Hausmannskost - Edit
I went here with a friend for dinner. We got a table outside next to a very quiet street.
Read moreThere were only two mains to choose from; a seitan-sauerbraten (18€) and a bolognese with homemade tagliatelle (15€). I had the bolognese and my friend had the seitan sauerbraten. The tagliatette was good but I got to taste the sauerbraten and it was even better. For dessert we shared a piece of chocolate cake (7€) and it was very good.
It is the best Vegan German Hausmannskost-restaurant that I've been to, and I'd love to go back.

Great food and service! - Edit
We had the arugula salad, schnitzel and miso spaetzle and the ingredients were so fresh and flavorful! We had to take our desserts to go and the chef took great care in preparing them beautifully. The chocolate cake and marzipan cake were phenomenal. We had excellent service from two different servers. I highly recommend Vaust for elegant vegan German food.

Wonderful meal at a wonderful restaurant - Edit
This was the third vegan fine-dining restaurant we went to on our Berlin trip and it didn't disappoint. The manager (owner?) waited on us when we arrived and was very friendly in explaining the menu to us. We asked about Beer-Mix on the menu and he explained it was somewhat popular to mix beer with syrup. When we asked which was most popular, he offered to give us a taste to help us decide if we wanted to try. We ended up ordering the mango-chile, which I highly recommend!
Read moreFoodwise, we started with the Vesper platter, which was DIVINE! We loved every part of it and wished there were more. Second was the curry sausage, which was their variation on currywurst, I imagine. It was SO much better than what we had at Curry 36 (see my other review). For mains, we had the spaetzle and the schnitzel. We were in Germany, of course! Hubby liked the schnitzel better than the spaetzle. The spaetzle wasn't soft and fluffy as we imagined it would be, but the schnitzel was gigantic! It was bigger than the plate. Definitely a large portion and it was pretty tasty. Dessert we had to try Grandma's marzipan cake, which was pretty darn tasty.
I understand the menu changes seasonally so there will be a different menu the next time we're in Berlin, which mean another visit to Vaust!
Pros: Good food, Friendly staff, Large portions

Was für ein Schnitzel! - Edit
Mein bisher bestes veganes Saitan-Schnitzel: groß, lecker & sehr knusprig! Der Gurkensalat ist noch etwas ausbaufähig, aber das Schnitzel ist einfach ein Traum.

One of the few "German" vegan restaurants in Berlin - Edit
Aside from Försters, Vaust is basically the only vegan restaurant I know of that focuses on German cuisine. They do it in a very nice traditional setting, which you would never guess was vegan...the word "vegan" is almost never mentioned, no animal rights posters on the walls, just a classic bistro setting alongside their microbrewery. On that note, don't forget to try their beers.!

Great Little Find - Edit
I had a last minute change of plans due to another venue being closed on the day I was in Berlin and I just happened upon this place and I’m so glad I did! Great choice on offer and the food, particularly the curry wurst, was excellent. The only negative was that the portions weren’t massive but I would return nonetheless.

Fat expensive dish - Edit
Nice place, perfect to sit outside and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. But the food is quite expensive (€15 main dish, €8 spinach salad which barely has anything else except spinach). The main dish primarily consisted of wheat protein. It was a lot of protein, but after eaten like a jalf it started feeling fat and it was hard to finish the meal. I really missed some potatoes/more lightweight than vegan meat here.

Unterwältigend. - Edit

German veggie heaven - Edit
Five stars for the great food. Very special vegetable creations, this is vegan haute cuisine. Own brewed beer.
Read moreVery imaginative cooking.
But they serve to quick, there was not enough time between the courses. The staff was typical Berlin style. Not the friendliest. The desert was to big, would been friendly if they had recommended only one portion for two people. The room isn’t not beautiful.
