No Mis-Bhavan, It Was Good as Gold - Edit
To say it had been an interesting school year would be underselling it to the point of absurdity. To mark the occasion, I wanted something comforting, delicious, and of genuine quality. Finding such a place is no easy feat, but the moment I espied this familiar name, I knew my search was over.
Read moreThere is going to be very little suspense when it comes to revealing how I felt about this order. No matter which of their restaurants I have had the pleasure of dining from, I have never endured so much as a modicum of disappointment, and this meal proved no exception.
Truthfully, I could once again produce reams extolling the virtues of every individual dish, but in a rare display of restraint, I shall instead shine the spotlight on a select few.
First and foremost, the fried fancies. To labour the point would be unnecessary, as every one of them was superb, making the task of choosing a favourite no mean feat. Yet choose I must, and this time the honour fell to the crispy fried mushrooms. Their sublime balance of saltiness, crispness, and meatiness nudged them just ahead of some very stiff competition.
Next, the breads and assorted sundries. The cashew noodles were a welcome addition to the line-up and thoroughly enjoyable in their own right, but it was another cashew-laden offering - the dosa - that pipped them to top spot in this category.
Finally, the wet elements. Though few in number, they showcased a pleasing range of textures and flavours, with the smallest dish making the biggest impression. I would have dearly loved the sweetcorn soup to have been served in double (or even triple) the quantity, but I relished every last spoonful that was there.
In a move that will surprise absolutely no one, I am once again throwing my full weight behind both this outlet and the brand as a whole. And though it scarcely needs saying, I will most certainly be back for more - much more.
