So yummy! The vegan lemongrass chicken banh mi is amazing, the bread is soft and crisp, without hurting the roof of your mouth. The Vietnamese meat pie is really delicious as well! So nice and buttery!

Best Bahn Mi in Portland! - Edit
Wow, don’t you love unexpected gems you stumble upon? Hit up the grocery outlet on 121st & Division and typed in vegan near me. I found the best vegan bann mi I’ve had in Portland! Vietnamese iced coffee with coconut milk, tofu spring rolls, and a fried tofu bang mi for $15.58. Sweetest person working and a very cool location! Give them some love!!!

Very Good - Edit
This place is great. I think it’s all vegan except for possibly having condensed milk as an option for coffee.

The food is tasty and portions are generous. For $30, which included a 20% tip, two of us ate and still had leftovers.

Excellent - Edit
This location supports a small Vietnamese Buddhist Temple with only two monks. As far as I know it is all vegan including the bread and the food is also sensitive (Allium) free. Some of the condiments are not but the food is. I think the food is very good.

AMAZING - Edit
I use to eat here all the time when it was at their old location, I was honestly so sad when they closed. I moved onto Van Hahn which I also love. Well this place has reopened and I hate to say it, but it’s even better than Van Hahn. Owner is soooo nice. Food is fresh and hot! sometimes these types of sandwiches use a crusty bread that cuts the mouth, this one was super soft and perfect.

While this is a food cart, they have a nice indoor seating area.

So Good and Cheap! - Edit
Super cute spot and just yummy good priced banh mi's. Cannot recommend enough. This is a gem that reminds me of the pre COVID, pre everything being way expensive and skimpy era for take out.

Outstanding Value Bánh mì - Edit
Located next to a Buddhist temple this small cart is connected to a covered space. The grounds are peaceful with interesting plants and statues.
Read moreThe guy working In the cart was very friendly. I ordered the #5 which was delicious and a great value at $6. He showed me the vegan mayo they now use. The oolong tea was refreshing.
I asked if the menu was all vegan and it was confirmed but I would double check since there is a bit of a language barrier and I noticed some of the free candies had milk. I would also check if the egg roll is vegan or not before ordering. It would also be cool to see some vegan dessert options like Bánh cam.
Would definitely recommend checking this place out!

Now all vegan! So friendly! - Edit
I stopped in here with a friend yesterday and was so impressed! The man in the cart was extremely friendly, and even gave us free oolong tea and a savory sticky-rice appetizer wrapped in a banana leaf (I think!) The banh mi I ordered was huge for $6! He also gave me a sample of their delicious vegan ham, which he said is made fresh daily on-site. He confirmed to me that the cart is now all vegan, and even showed me the industrial-sized jar of vegan mayo he was using. He also had been closed for the previous three days because he was setting up/remodeling the lovely covered seating area. The entire experience was wonderful, and I highly recommend this place!

NOT VEGAN - Edit
They have zero understanding of the word vegan and advertise they are completely vegan but confirmed use eggs. Their mayo is egg based. Really unfortunate as I’ve eaten here multiple times with my husband. To get food here it is a huge hassle as well. Not worth it even though it is very cheap.

Caution - Edit
Before I explain, note that the mayo is NOT vegan! I walked up to the cart being closed up, despite online saying they were open. I decided to just stay and study the menu, and eventually, a woman came over and said only #1 or #4. I said 4 and asked if it was vegan. She said yes, vegan, yes yes. I said okay. I then asked again, if she was sure? Again, yes, yes, vegan. Then, a chef came over, and I stopped them and asked that it is indeed vegan. They said yes. Then a guy came over to ask me a question, and I told him I just wanted to make sure it's vegan. He says yes, everything vegan. I said okay because I was mainly concerned about the mayo. He then says oh the mayo is egg. I said what? I said vegan and was told it's vegan. He says no, it has egg, so I don't want egg? I said no, vegan. No egg. He then told the chef no mayo. Wow! So yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they sealed the egg rolls with actual egg as well. I've encountered this exact scenario elsewhere too with saying it's fine cuz it's just egg. *face palm. Despite the giant banner outside that says vegan and everyone there saying it's vegan, just make sure you cover all your bases of possible animal products and tell them none of it. Eggs, butter, whatever else! Now, on to the actual food. For $6, it is what it is, but it was pretty sad, to be honest. Mainly bread, there was no joke, 3 pieces of carrot shreds. Three. You could actually count them out. Everything about it was pretty bland. I will definitely be skipping this place.

Thanks. I tried to go there and the cart was "open" but no one in it. No bell to ring, no phone number to call... I waited about 10 minutes and just gave up. If they are advertising "vegan" when it's not I'll just skip it altogether though.

Good, inexpensive sandwiches - Edit
I've had a few sandwiches from here that I've really enjoyed, and for $4, you can't beat it! I've also tried a few stir fries which were ok. There is a bit of a language barrier with the family who owns the cart so figuring out what is vegan can be a little bit difficult (depending on who is working).
