BIG meals for fair price - Edit
Wanted to go for the falafel meal but they dont have that on saturday. Went with the “protein meal” which has tofu, seitan & tempeh. It was really big for €14.

Had higher expectations - Edit
Ordered the chia pudding with berries and a macha (oat) latte for breakfast. I counted 1 blackberry and 4 berries. The chia pudding was good. Had preferred it was served without the thick (unhealthy) layer of soy cream on top.

Amazing! - Edit
We came at 7:15 and closing time is 8:00 so they didn’t have much o choose from but we think now that anything you eat there is, well, amazing. We got 1 protein platter which was more than enough for two people. We sat outdoors. The service was sweeter than any place we’ve eaten in Croatia. We thanked her for letting us eat there!

Pros: Service, Protein plate, Outside seating

Upcafe has it all. Here you can have a quick bite, a full meal or a coffee with sweet treats. Vegan options are clearly marked and behind QR code in tables you’ll find a whole menu in English.
Read moreWe visited twice here during our stay in Split. A seitan wrap was very tasty and fresh lunch and apple strudel a good dessert. They also have good coffee. Second time we tested the bigger meals (Healthy meal and Protein meal). They were quite nice, filling and had a homemade feel in them.
Pros: Clearly marked vegan dishes, Many different protein options, Good coffee

Good and quick tasty grub. - Edit
Upcafe is about 50% vegan 50% veggie. There are a bunch of seats outside and as hey do serious coffee's and do not advertise that they are veggie orientated it gets used as a cafe by passeers by more than most veg places do. I had a sietan burrito, twas good. The seitan is a light flavoured style. The notices and written menu are allin Croatian but they staff speak English and the QR code menu has an English option.
Read morePros: Lots of vegan options, Not expensive and quick., Tasty
Cons: Not all vegan, No English menu on wall

Excellent value - Edit
Great place, grabbed food from here a couple of times. There is another Upcafe closer to the center but it is more expensive. For me it was worth the 15 mins walk to get to this one. The seitan wrap for €4 is something I grabbed a couple of to take with me before traveling to another city. Wish I had chance to try more things!

Incredible - Edit
The best spot for vegan lunch food in Split!
Read moreAlthough UpCafe isn’t a fully vegan cafe they have lots of options which are clearly labelled on the digital menu (in English for those who speak English)
I got the protein meal which had seitan, tofu and tempeh which all were delicious. It also came with salad, some sort of rice, a little curry thing and an amazing sauce. I loved all of it and the portions were huge!!
My partner got the tempeh oyster mushrooms which were made out of a tofu batter - stunning. This meal came with similar things but a different rice!
There were lots of cakes that looked yummy at the front and the staff were lovely too.
Pros: Amazing food, Huge portions, Clearly labelled

Pastries and cakes good, “burritos” bad - Edit
i would get the banana cake again and again and again, but would absolutely not get the seitan burrito again. it was more of a wrap than a burrito, and it was served cold. just not super pleasant to eat. come for the vegan sweets and maybe the plates? we didn’t try them though

A shining star in Split (NOT fully vegan) - Edit
Upcafe saved us haha. They have so many delicious options. Almost deli style- you can point at what you want in the glass case. Good coffee- super friendly. Great prices! LOTS of vegan options . Normally I would not give a vegetarian place 5 stars- but the price and atmosphere is really a breath of fresh air in tourist split.

Up town cafe & a restaurant with busy vibe and awsome food - Edit
When in Split, we don't miss Up Caffe. Wholesome menus, daily soups and stews, burgers, sandwiches, smoothies, desserts, coffee.. This place has it all and everything is super delicious. We loveee their burritos! However, it's not a place where you come for a date night or a relaxing lunch- this place is super busy and its facing a very noisy street.😄

Local place - Edit
The protein meal was the only meal left when I arrived. They close at 8 so be on time.
Read moreThe meal was very good and big portion. tasty. Normal prices €12 compared to the city center.
Next day I went back and choose a croatian dish with seitan. It was supposed to be spicy but it wasn’t at all. The veggies were bland and some veggies were too hard to chew. The dish was also kinda cold. It came a minute after I ordered. So I wonder how fresh it is. I wanted to order a coffee after the dinner and it was not possible they cleaned it already. It was 19 o’clock. I guess this place is more for lunch cos it’s also empty while I was having dinner.
Most dishes are vegan what I saw but they charge for plant milk.

Tasty little cafe - Edit
I went near closing so only had a few options left. The protein plate was tasty and just what I wanted after a week if struggling to find decent vegan food in Croatia. The girl behind the counter was very friendly and attentive.

Fresh balanced and delicious - Edit
Great for a quick lunch or on the go, the cafe is full of great options with actual protein in meals (seitan, tofu, etc.). I had a wrap (seitan) , a vegan cake , and a chia pudding. Good portions, especially for the price and compared to the rest of Split centre. I came twice to the cafe since it was one of the better options in Split. The full dishes look great as well.

Fresh, balanced ,and not the usual choices - Edit
This cafe is a wonderful find! The choices range from the usual (falafel) to the more interesting (fried oyster mushroom) entrees. The meals are well balanced with a high protein grain, a couple of salads, a main ingredient, and sauces on the side. All was fresh and delicious. The service for dinner was quick and courteous, with plenty of seating. Overall, a good value.
