A classic in town - Edit
Location may be slightly out of easy reach for tourists, but it's worth the try.
Read moreStaff very helpful and friendly if not too busy.
Perhaps not the best coffee in Split, but everything else very tasty (from crepes to cakes, from burritos to pizzettas).
The spring rolls may be among the most interesting choices (with tofu and typical local type of spinach).
Wide range of options specially from 11:30, but careful that most things go sold out already around 14:30 !
Affordable prices, two floor seating area inside, and few tables outside too.

Local - Edit

Simply amazing - Edit
Service was wonderful, they have food of the day, so ask for it. The food was amazing, most of the options are vegan, or can be vegan.

Super impressed with my meal here! - Edit
Felt like authentic home cooking, they make everything in house including the vegan mayo. They usually have many daily dishes that are all laid out so you can see and choose from. Massive portions, def can share. They are all super sweet and very willing to explain what things are. Really loved it! Tasty!

Vegetarian/ also mostly vegan Oasis is Split - Edit
Place with longest tradition of serving vegetarian and vegan food in Split.(previously they managed also Macrovega restaurant in the old part of town which was closed due to poor traffic during winter months).
Read morePros:
You have a choice of more than 8 tasty daily meals, different sandwiches and sweets. Many meals have vegan/vegetarian variations so you can choose. Also there is a Menu so you can order many other dishes, you just have to wait a little more.
Food is great , price/quality/amount of food you get per meal is great.
Kind stuff.
Highly recommended..
Cons:
Almost nothing. I wished they had gomashio on tables, and keto vegan meal in menu (proteins like tempeh, tofu and seitan with kale and other keto vegetables, no carbs from grains).

Yummy and cheap! - Edit
Tasty food, big portions and pretty cheap! I had the tofu meal which comes with a lot of different things on the plate, but each part was super tasty in its own right. Desserts are yummy too - I had a coconut cake which was really light and fresh. My boyfriend and I had 2 drinks, 2 main meals and 2 desserts and the bill came to 190 kuna - definitely the cheapest evening meal we've had in Split. The staff were also really friendly and helpful.

They had plenty of options for vegan food. We ordered vegan burger, strudel and pancake. The food felt processed and fast foody, and didn't taste much.

For the main dish, when I went there the vegan options were not all labelled (among all vegetarian options) but dont hesitate to ask, they will show you will dishes are. Prepared plates are displayed, so you can see what you are ordering. For dessert, vegan options are labelled.
Just too bad that they dont ofter vg alternatives for coffee.
Pros: Several tasty vegan options, Friendly staff, vg options are different from usual croatian

BY FAR THE BEST PLACE IN SPLIT - Edit
after a week of exploring all the vegan food spilt has to offer this is certainly the winner. This place has truly delicious food and epic portions. The tofu burrito was a particular favourite along with the falafel plate. Also the desserts are amazing. They do have cheese in a very few dishes which are easily avoidable and very clearly marked! You won’t be disappointed by this place.

THE BEST vegan / veggie place in Split! - Edit
Whether you are vegan/ veggie or meat eater, you have to try this place! The food is delicious! I went three times whilst i was in Split! SO GOOD! I had the vegan kebab and also the vegan tofu dish. Both had so much flavour and texture and lots of different elements on the plate. I thought it was really well priced too! The staff were very friendly and helpful and even though they were super busy were happy to help explain the menu etc. They also serve kombucha which was a bonus too! LOVE LOVE LOVE this place - best vegan/ veggies place in Split for sure! It is slightly out of the centre but absolutely worth going - it's about a 15 minute walk from Green market and just round the corner from the Joker shopping centre.

Great at lunchtime, runs out of dishes quickly - Edit
Very popular cafe with many vegan options. The dishes are healthy and mostly low-sugar without sacrificing taste. Being so busy, the service appears a little overwhelmed but remains friendly. The portions of the plate dishes are huge (great value at about 55kn) you can somewhat tell the canteen-like cooking style, but the dishes are well balanced. Not everything on the menu was available as the staff failed to inform us while ordering, which was a little awkward. Drinks are well made, the vegan cake (raw cheesecake) we tried was perfectly, neither too rich nor too sweet. Unfortunately, most desserts available were dairy-based. Returning in the evening, we only found a limited selection (pizza, vegetarian wraps) that had been sitting on the counter for hours, which kind of subverts the goal of healthy eating.

Good, healthy food - Edit
We know the UpCafe since 2014 and the food is perfect. Healthy vegan meals and friendly staff. It’s is a little out f the center but worth a trip. You get very delicious food for a reasonable price. We had several meals here, they are all super. This time we had the “Seitan Pšticada” and the “Mushroom Wrap” both were excellent. For dessert we had “Vanilla Pancakes” and “Healthy Cake” tasty and not too sweet which we like.

Popular Cafe - Edit
Extensive cafe menu with lots of vegan options. You could tell this must be popular with the locals, because it was always busy when we passed. We visited twice, both times we got the seitan burrito and vegan pizza which were both fantastic! On one day we had dessert too, thanks to the member of staff talking us through all the vegan options.

It's a really nice lay out for seating area, inside balcony above the food bar, the main seating and outside. They only have 2 items left on the menue that's vegan. Pizza and mushroom burrito, both cold counter items. Both were really nice, although the pizza didn't have a cheese alternative it was still really tasty!

A friendly cafe outside of the Old Town - Edit
It's 20 minutes walk from the Old Town, a nice casual cafe with outside seating. There were quite a few vegan options but not always marked. It has a markedly healthy vibe, not exactly my thing but I know some people really appreciate it:) Had very tasty rolls with seitan and mushrooms, lots of other snack options.

Not completely vegan, but might as well be. Some of the dishes are accompanied with cheese, but easily can be veganised. Friendly, busy place in the heart of the city. Not too casual, not too fancy. You will love it!

Good cafe - Edit
I went here for dinner one night at around 7PM and wanted to try the pizza with cheese made from tofu as well as a seitan pastry. However, another customer who was a local, mentioned to me that everything is prepared in advance and that the pizza, seitan pastry, pasta, etc had been sitting around all day. He recommended the sandwiches as they were cold sandwiches and so were ok even though they had been made at around 11AM. I had the hemp burger which had tofunaise; it was big, filling and tasty. The other customer mentioned Upcafe was good for lunch as then the food was fresh. I returned the next day around 2PM and by that time, they had sold out of a lot of their items. However, I had already eaten at their sister restaurant and just wanted coffee with soy milk (they also have oat milk). Unlike, their sister restaurant Makro Vega, Upcafe has wifi so it's a nice place to sit for a while. I also asked whether they had the means to heat up food if I got it in the evening and they said they did. They also have two set lunches which are 35 kuna; one is a healthy lunch and the other is a protein lunch. They are the same every day though and given my limited time in Split, I didn't get a chance to try them. Upcafe seems like a very nice place for coffee or sandwiches.
