Good vegan foods - Edit
We tried this place on a whim as we were visiting the River Arts District and picked a place at the last minute. Parking lot was very small and we barely crammed into it. We had to wait for the car behind us to leave though before we could back out when leaving. I would recommend parking elsewhere and walking over.
Read moreThe building is fairly small too but cozy. There is also some outside seating so that helps.
There are vegan baked goods and vegan menu options, in addition to vegan coffee choices. There is an up charge for non diary milk options. Flavors for coffee are pretty limited but again it is a small building so I’m sure storage space is at a premium.
Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and we enjoyed our food and eating outside.
There isn’t any table service. You’re given a buzzer and they buzz you for drinks and again for your food.
Pros: Vegan options, Friendly staff, Walking distance to River Arts District
Cons: Very small parking lot, Up charge for non diary milks

Viva la vegan 🥑 - Edit
Breakfast here is an essential. Vegan Rad is good, the energy balls are great (though a tad sweet), but my favorite is the Viva la vegan bagel, add avocado. Filling and very good. I come here every time I’m in Asheville. The soy lattes are also delicious. Staff are always friendly.

Exceptional service, fresh ingredients - Edit
My first stop to Ultra Coffeebar on their busiest day of the week (Sunday). Ordered the Chai Tea latte and the ultraman spinach herb wrap to go. Service was very fast, the wrap was extremely good as was my Chai tea latte. This will be my new go to spot in Asheville for a good sandwich to take on a day trip up the mountains.

It was okay - Edit
Was really excited to come here. Don’t regret it because I would’ve felt like I missed out but I wouldn’t go back. I got viva la vegan. We were disappointed to see that the bagels are pre made, but that’s on us for assuming. The sandwich itself was good but would have liked much more tempeh and tofu. Also got a cold brew with almond milk that was very standard.

Amazing!! - Edit
Half of the menu is dedicated to just vegan foods and they also offer milk alternatives for coffee/hot chocolate. They also have quite a few vegan dessert options as well.

Very Disappointed - Edit
I'm a little surprised by all these great reviews. We got 2 different vegan sandwiches. First, the bagels themselves weren't very good (they almost seemed like those store bought Lender's bagels they used to sell in the freezer). The plain one was a bit rubbery and shiny and neither had that slightly crisp outside good bagels have. The tofu egg had almost no flavor, the tempeh "bacon" was just pieces of undercooked tempeh, not even remotely approaching crispy and we swear our bagels had vegan mayo on them and not cream chz. It was thin and oily like an aioli consistency and we couldn't taste any sort of jalapeno or other flavor in the jalapeno cream cheese. I wonder if they ran out and used mayo instead without telling us or that is the "cream cheese". We poured hot sauce all over it to make it edible. I didn't care for the drip coffee either, but some people like that light, sour tasting coffee. Cute outside space, but honestly it's the worst food we've had in ages. I wouldn't eat there again.

Simple and Tasty - Edit
I get the Viva la vegan and it's so simple and yet so delicious. My downside is that I really don't like how they make their coffee so I have to go to another place to get that. They have plenty of baked goods to pick up too and those are so moist and delicious.

We are visiting and tried finding a vegan coffee shop. First place we went was all vegan but closed. It was a blessing for us because this place sooooo satisfied! My husband ordered one breakfast sandwich and I ordered a different one and we split to each try both. Delicious!

I got the Vegan Rad bagel and it was super tasty! The worker told me the owners are vegan and that virtually everything can be made vegan. I’m not sure why they choose to have nonvegan food here then if the owners are vegan but I’m so grateful for all the options and the coffee is so good too!!
