Super variety of nasi campur!

I had never seen a place offering so many types of nasi campur, or so many little sides within one nasi campur dish. The ones we got had a lot of different flavours and textures and we ended up happy and also very satisfied with the amount for the price. 45k plus tax for the biggest campur.

Pros: tasty, varied, filling for the price

Cons: food is not reheated enough, tiny space, can't bring groups

Cold and uninspiring food

I ordered nasi camper - a lot like a thali in indonesian style. But sad to say, altho food tasted somewhat decent, the dishes were either cold (like the tempeh and the corn fritters), or reheated (like the rice which was crusted over on top). I was really hungry after a long day in the sun and was able to eat it but wld not recommend it. 3/4 of the taste of veg food lies in its freshness and this meal just didnt cut it.

Pros: Nice spicing

Cons: cold food and grungy cafe.

Good food, BUT...

The food was good although luke warm but...
1. The guy working there didn't know the meaning of the term "vegan"!
2. When he took our order he reassured me several times that the meal I ordered contains no peanuts only to tell me it has peanut sauce after I asked the waitress when the food got served. If I wouldn't have been this suspicious, this lunch would've ended in hospital for me!!!
When asking for the bill tax was added to the prices shown in the menu which I never experienced in Indonesia.

Prima menu

Uitgebreid menu, restaurant leek dicht maar toch wilde de mevrouw wel voor ons koken.

Tempeh burger was een beetje mushy maar de curry was lekker.

Pros: Ruime keuze , Opties om te veganizen

Pretty good

We arrived and weren't sure they were open. Pretty run down looking. But we decided to stay. The rice mix meal was delicious! And we had noodles and fried rice. Very cheap and the people who ran it were super friendly. The monkeys running around were entertaining while we waited.

Pros: Unclear pricing on menu, Cool monkey entertainment , Cheap

Cons: Monkeys breaking in kitchen 😂, Food took a while

Not great

I went in the evening and had to sit in the dark outside. Perhaps I should have left, but I was the only one there and the owner was so enthusiastic and welcoming, so I thought I'd give it a try. Using my phone flashlight to see the menu, I ordered "my salad" but it was very average and a very small portion size for the price. I also asked for vegan, and it came with cheese on top. The owner said that it was soy cheese but I'm not 100% confident in that. I have a feeling some of the other dishes are much more impressive, but with so many incredible options in town, I don't think I will rush back. Friendly staff.

not quite, folks

I ordered a drink after trying to order some items which weren't showing pricing on the menu. I've been to this place before and have had the same experience as others in terms of overcharging (attempts) based on what was on the menu.

I ordered only a (carrot) drink which seemed to be severely watered down. The bill was about 18% over the drink price which could be their service + something else tax. I think they're cutting their own throats, frankly.

A restaurant such as this may remain competitive by delivering the bill exactly matching pricing as shown on the menu. Main St, Ubud can differ to that point.
And water in the drinks might work in Kuta but Ubud won't sustain that.

Pros: has potential to value price—overhead looks cheap, convenient to Monkey Forest Rd., friendly staff

Cons: overpriced, stealth tax and/or dishonesty, some missing menu prices & language barrier

Nothing special, expect the atmosphere

Cozy place, friendly staff, but the food wasnt overwhelming.
Advertised local prices, atleast close, but not as cheap as expected.

Pros: Atmosphere is very calming, Staff is friendly, Good sized portions

Cons: Its not very tasty, but I was full (which is good), Confusing menu

Great food

The food here is really good, as in REALLY good! We waited for it for about half an hour though. But it was worth it. The owner is really sweet.
We were bit surprised/frustrated, that the final price was more than the menu had shown. Almost everything we ordered, was more expensive on the Bill than on the menu. So that was a bummer, since you should be able to count on the menu. So the food is amazing, but because of the final service and price, i would not go here again.

Pros: Vegan food

Cons: Cant count on the prices

A good place

The owner of the restaurant is super friendly. She said that everything on the menu is vegan, but it seems that they do make dishes with eggs, so you have to ask her beforehand about the ingredients. The prices were adequate and the food was very good. Highly recommend visiting this place if you are close to the Monkey Forest.

Pros: Great food, friendly staff

Cons: Confusing menu

Cheap and tasty

Hidden away down an alley. Think part of a hostel?
Menu was quite confusing as to what is vegan or vegetarian and waiter wasn't really sure, although not sure if that was language barrier. The menu also does not have descriptions of food.
I had the tofu carbonara - it was very tasty and would happily have had more. I hope it was vegan - they said it was but I'm not convinced!
My boyfriend ordered the vegan rendang which was a very small portion but was also tasty.
Food took a while to prepare but was obviously made from fresh. We were happy watching the monkeys playing in the garden whilst we waited!
Very cheap.
Would recommend, but be careful about what you order if you're vegan.

Pros: Cheap , Food tasty

Cons: Menu needs to be clearer

Surprising Gem

This restaurant is down an alley, off the busy tourist-filled road, and looks very unassuming. At first we were uncertain if we had even found it and not wandered into someone's backyard - very homely, with chickenwire windows and daggy decor. The food we were served was the opposite - absolutely delicious, and with wonderful plating. The gado gado was delicious. A great quiet spot for great Indonesian food.

Pros: Value, Plating, Away from main strip

Cons: Some menu items were out of stock / not ready

Authentic Indonesian

This place is a little gem right by Monkey Forest in Ubud, Bali. From the front, it looks like a coffee shop, but once inside, you will see the 15-page menu that's all vegetarian! Feels like family, I love it here :) Very welcoming + the food is delicious! If you're looking for a change from the tourist places, try this place! ♡

Pros: authentic Balinese food, warm, friendly staff, delicious food

Cons: hard to see at first how much veg food they have!
