Tucked away jewel - Edit
This tucked away, family run restaurant is a jewel in times of standardized offers. Truly vegan and vegetarian local food, cooked in their kitchen and served in their courtyard.

Fabulous authentic food - Edit
There's loads of vegan food in Ubud but most of it is stuff you could get anywhere in the world. That certainly isn't the case at Tulasi. A huge menu of authentic Balinese/Indonesian foods with a few Western and breakfast dishes. We took pictures of the menu so we could look up a few dishes as nothing is in English but I doubt you could go wrong, especially at those prices. Could not recommend more highly.

Drop everything and come here. - Edit
First things first:
Read moreMujair Nyat-Nyat was the best vegan fish I’ve had in my life, and I’ve had countless.
I came here for three meals in one day and I loved everything I had!
The menu is huge and had pictures of every meal.
The food is very reasonably priced (50k for main) and worth so much more, the portions are huge.
The flavours are intense, the big courses have plenty of components and are an adventure to eat.
Presentation is also beautiful, stuff is lovely, the garden is cute and they even have a dog that could cosplay as a tiger.
I’m seriously considering staying in Ubud longer just to eat more things here.
Pros: Delicious , Nice quiet garden, Monkeys jumping on roofs around (but well behaved)

This is a very nice little restaurant where you can order very tasty vegetarian dishes. The owner is lovely and very welcoming. The prices are more than fair. You really have to try it if you like vegetarian food. #Veganuary

Very tasteful, best value for money in Bali - Edit
Incredible tasteful, everything on palm leaf, nice presentation of the dish. The restaurant is very close to the Monkey forest and very practical to get quick meal there after visiting the forest. When we visited there was no other costumers, the atmosphere/first appearance in not really modern but do not let this fool you, the food is the best.

Do not miss! - Edit
Authentic Balinese food, with the price and service to match. We had the Rendang and it was incredible, our server told us it was made from mushroom and it was one of the tastiest things I’ve ever eaten. There was such a nice variety with the meal, well balanced. We also ordered the sweetcorn fritters because they’re a favourite of ours. Two juices to go with, came to around Rp150k! The staff were so friendly and seemed genuinely happy that we enjoyed our meal so much. You must visit when you’re in Ubud!

Best Food I've Had In Bali! - Edit
This the best authentic Balinese food I had as a vegan in Bali. It is so cheap and so brilliant. Don’t be put off if there’s no one else in, the food selection is incredible. Highly highly recommend.

What a beautiful little oasis in Ubud - right in the centre of town. The vegan nasi babi guling is out of this world one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

not a typical campur - Edit
they have a huge balinese and western selection and the owners are very welcoming. i ordered nasi campur, they have different types and different rice. the toppings were different from a typical campur, included “meat”, “fish”, curry, tofu tempe and more. the rice is tasty as well. some toppings were quite salty, but in general i had a good dinner at a place that i can recommend.

Balinese and Indonesian vegan food - Edit
We ate Nasi Campur, Nasi Rendang, Nasi Bebek Goreng (mock duck), corn fritters, and a dessert called Kolak (with banana and yam in sweetened coconut milk), along with iced coffee with soy milk, lemongrass ginger tea, and lemon tea. Everything we ordered was tasty. The rendang was a bit salty for my taste, but otherwise great.
Read moreJust a note to be careful: they don’t list it on the menu, but they do provide honey if someone asks (I found this out when I made sure the lemon tea didn’t have any honey in it).
Pros: Friendly staff, Large portions, Reasonable prices

Lovely food and staff - Edit
The food was delicious and served very quickly. It was also really cheap for vegan food in Ubud (30-50k). The lady who runs the restaurant was really nice and friendly, had a nice conversation with her.

Small, no-frills restaurant with Balinese dishes - Edit
Tulasi Vegetarian offers a range of vegan Balinese and other Indonesian dishes (plus some western dishes). I ordered a Balinese tempeh dish that was very satisfying, along with a mixed juice. The hot (spicy) condiments were served on the side. This is a small, no-frills restaurant with relatively cheap dishes. The service was prompt.

Really good main dish and lukewarm/cold side dishes - Edit
Unfortunately, my experience at this place was not great ...
Read moreFirst, when I asked for water, I was given a large bottle (1.5L) without a glass.
Then, I received not what I had ordered. Instead of the Mie Goreng Special (fried noodles with side dishes), I got the Nasi Goreng Special.
So far, not great but also no big deal.
The food was ... cold. At least all the side dishes (skewers, some veggie fritter and tofu/tempeh) were definitely not heated before serving.
This may sound like a small thing, but it really threw me off and I didn't enjoy my meal, even though the main dish was good.
I don't want to be too harsh. I am not sure if the older gentleman who was serving me was fully able to do the job. But still, I won't be going back.

Food was good, although some bits were cold so it threw me off. But the main rice or noodles were good. I went a couple times and food was better when I went right after they opened. Good location to the monkey forest and the restaurant is quaint.

Super variety of nasi campur! - Edit
I had never seen a place offering so many types of nasi campur, or so many little sides within one nasi campur dish. The ones we got had a lot of different flavours and textures and we ended up happy and also very satisfied with the amount for the price. 45k plus tax for the biggest campur.

Cold and uninspiring food - Edit
I ordered nasi camper - a lot like a thali in indonesian style. But sad to say, altho food tasted somewhat decent, the dishes were either cold (like the tempeh and the corn fritters), or reheated (like the rice which was crusted over on top). I was really hungry after a long day in the sun and was able to eat it but wld not recommend it. 3/4 of the taste of veg food lies in its freshness and this meal just didnt cut it.

Good food, BUT... - Edit
The food was good although luke warm but...
Read more1. The guy working there didn't know the meaning of the term "vegan"!
2. When he took our order he reassured me several times that the meal I ordered contains no peanuts only to tell me it has peanut sauce after I asked the waitress when the food got served. If I wouldn't have been this suspicious, this lunch would've ended in hospital for me!!!
When asking for the bill tax was added to the prices shown in the menu which I never experienced in Indonesia.
