So delicious - Edit
Absolutely amazing food and such a reasonable price. Beautiful restaurant with nice atmosphere and lovely owners. English menu and accepts credit card. They do take reservations but we were able to walk in with no wait on a Sunday night. They also have jewellery, soaps, homeware etc for sale which is made from recycled materials. Love the no waste concept. My non-vegan partner also loved the food here. Must try when in Kyoto!

Beautiful - Edit
Such a refreshing place. It was so nice to find this place, the food is all vegan and tasty of course, but I especially loved the zero waste concept. It's an issue close to my heart, and japan sure is a little triggering about it.
Read moreThey have all these zero waste products (soy beans, nuts, dates and more for buying by weight), and educating signs all over the restaurant (with a positive attitude).
The owners is the nicest couple, speak English well.

best vegan korean food ever! - Edit
If I could give more stars I would. This was so TASTY! I love korean food, so I am very picky when it comes to good vegan korean food. This was by far the best I've ever had, the "meat" was incredibly tasty & the vegetables very fresh. It is a bit more expensive, but totally justified and worth every penny. The owners were very sweet and polite.

Incredible food and lovely people - Edit
Oh my goodness. The Korean BBQ bowl had the best vegan 'meat' we have ever had. Highly recommend eating here! The sushi was also delicious. The restaurant is combined with a zero-waste stop including jewellery and other items made from plastic they found washed up on the beach. Amazing place.

Best vegan meat in Japan - Edit
The dishes were really tasty and flavourful. We also had the seasonal strawberry milk and lemon-earl grey scone which were also so delicious. Worth waiting for a table!

Zero waste refreshing to see in Japan - Edit
One tourist's perspective: Japan feels very oblivious to waste production at times. So this place was very refreshing. They're clearly quite serious about their zero waste stance. And the food was really really good. The scone was skippable.

Best Fake/Vegan Meat my Dad has ever had - Edit
The food was absolutely delicious - my dad even said it's the best vegan/fake meat he has ever had! (he ordered the Korean bbq rice bowl) Scones were delicious too. We were drinking beer but tea was being brewed that smelled amazing so I'll definitely be getting that next time. Had a nice chat with the owners who were lovely😄had to wait one hour for a table as there were reservations so we went somewhere else for a drink first, that only showed us that it was probably a good place if it was in high demand.

Read moreExcellent Korean food!
Restaurant is small and would recommend to book seats in advance (especially if you're group of 3 or more). In the evening it might be hard to get a walk in seat.
Staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming.

Brilliant Korean food - Edit
Fully vegan & environmentally friendly restaurant in Kyoto. The staff there are so friendly and welcoming & this is reflected in the food which is delicious and flavoursome. Would 100% recommend if you are vegetarian or vegan and in Kyoto. The restaurant houses about 11 or so people as there is limited space. However it is worth the wait (it also smells incredible in there) for what's on offer at a super reasonable price too! Loved it :)

Delicious BBQ soy protein - Edit
Really good to see some vegan Korean food. We came here for lunch on a Saturday and it was quite quiet when we arrived, though it's quite small so it filled up quickly. We both had the delicious BBQ rice bowl. The soy protein has loads of flavour and a great texture and it was nice to be able to choose how much rice we wanted. We also had some delicious masala chai prepared especially. Really cute restaurant and would recommend coming here if you're looking for vegan food in Kyoto.

good food and good vibes - Edit
i love the concept of zero waste and the food was so good! i also tried the scone and it was so delicious and i was transferred into chocolate heaven (they warmed it up and it may look dry and like a block of brown beton on the pic, it was perfect!!) the seasoning of the soy meat was so good i wish i had more than 3 pieces of it in my bowl ahhhhhh definitely will come back here!! edit: came back today to try other dishes and the kimbap is my favourite! if you are hungry and you are two people it’s the perfect fish to share and order another dish as well😄

Amazing vegan Korean bbq and ambiance! - Edit
This place was such an exciting find! This delicious restaurant was only a 3 minute walk from Hotel Tavinos. The owners are so kind, friendly, and committed to cultivating a healthier, more sustainable planet. Plus they are amazing cooks - the food was delicious!! I got the vegan Korean bbq bowl and it was both affordable and scrumptious! There is also a little zero waste section with bulk items and upcycled goods. Definitely go here if you are vegan in Kyoto, care about sustainability, or just want some delicious food! A
