Hidden gem in Kurashiki - Edit
Such an absolute highlight of a meal. I had a delicious lunch set with various small dishes, all of them tasty and well balanced. There were lots of locals/domestic tourists eating here which isn't often the case with fully vegan places in Japan, and I think speaks to the quality of the food. Service was great, especially considering the place was packed and it's only one guy doing it all! The entrance is inside a courtyard.

It was the best meal I’ve had in Japan. A traditional Japanese lunch, full of flavour and color, and healthy of course. It was all the more remarkable given that he was on his own the whole time!

This was a standout meal - would give 10 stars if we could! We went at lunchtime and had the set meal which was super fresh and tasty with loads of different parts; miso soup, tempura, agedashi tofu, salad, pickles, sesame mushrooms, rice and a soy grains ‘meat ball’ with radish dressing. It’s in a super chill location - through a courtyard on a side street so nice to get away from the crowds. The owner was super friendly and bakes the cakes fresh in the morning, sadly we didn’t get to try it was we had a to catch a train, but they looked great. Can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Awesome chef who uses 20 local vegetables in various ways for his set menu. Great place to relax when wandering Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter. We would definitely return for lunch.

The owner prepares everything directly in the room. Nice atmosphere.
Gluten: there are some tempuras in the menu, ideally come with a friend who can eat them or ask the guy beforehand.

I had the lunch set, a hot chai latte, and a piece of the red bean and strawberry cake. Everything was so delicious! This was one of my fave lunches in Japan. The chai latte was also amazing, it had a strong spicy and gingery taste. The cake was the perfect texture, not dry at all. I would come back to Kurashiki just for this place!

We had the burger lunch set, one hot chai latte and a strawberry red bean cake. We also bought some cookies. Everything was delicious, and the owner is really nice! Especially enjoyed the glazed tofu and the side salad with different pickled toppings!

When I made an unplanned stop in Kurashiki, I wasn’t expecting much in the way of vegan food. Very pleased to have found this place. They only offer a set menu (plus a few cakes/cookies) but it was absolutely delicious and at a very reasonable price! I spent one month in Japan and this easily ranked in my top 5 meals.

Absolutely the best place we have been to, the food is amazing and the chef is best- he is the waiter, chef and cleaner doing everything so fast and efficient. The meal set is perfect no need for more options❤️Although he doesn’t hear well his costumers service is remarkable! Cannot recommend enough!!!!
