Would not go back

Well, I had high expectations because of the reviews here. The restaurant seems popular among the Italian crowd as well. It has a more rustic, canteen style feeling. We showed up around 12.45 PM and the place was packed. There are a few tables outside and a big room inside. Staff was super busy and stressed.
Water was free which was great.
Some of the food has the allergens mentioned on the menu... some not.
I decided to get the vegetable soup for 9.50 eur which was overcooked and just tasted okay, not more. The tomato-arugula salad for 6 eur was pretty simple and small for the price. Coperto is set at 1.50 eur.
When you go to the counter to pay you have to tell them what you had, they don't write it down...

All in all: nothing special, would not recommend.

Pros: Rather cheap, Allergens mostly mentioned

Cons: Taste: just okay, nothing special, Staff super stressed

Very traditional with a good selection of VE small plates

This place has good outdoor seating inside is very traditional - nothing has changed here in many years! The menu has several vegan small plates. The service was good and friendly.

Buone le zuppe

Osteria buona con due zuppe vegane in menù. Diverse verdure e legumi nei menù.
Assolutamente consigliato.

Pros: Opzioni vegane nel menù

An incredible gem in Lucca!

This locally-owned spot is such a gem. I’ve been overall underwhelmed with the food in Italy, but this restored hope. My partner and I got the vegetable soup, beans, bread, and sage rosemary potatoes. Everything was delicious, but the potatoes blew me away!!

Must visit this cozy spot when in Lucca. #Veganuary

Pros: Amazing food, Cozy place, Local spot

A bit dissapointing

We orderd several dishes which are vegan (the beans, onions, peppers, fries potatoes and some pasta) but unfortunately the portions were quite small and pricy for the size. After we orderd the drinks, the waitress told us that they were out of several dishes (eggplant, pasta with basil and tomato and others) even though we ate quite early there. The preparation of the food on the plate was loveless and they brought white beans instead of green ones. Also the pasta isn't homemade and wasn't al dente. Would not eat there a second time...

Pros: Nice atmosphere

Cons: Small portions , Overpriced , Loveless presentation of the food

Lovely Tuscan Lunch

Lovely lite and cheap lunch. I was struggling to find somewhere that wasn’t the usual pizza/pasta. I had the lovely vegetable soup with the baked beans. I ordered the fries by accident as I read baked potato, they were ok but I would personally skip. The soup was a huge portion and was served with lovely fresh bread. I would recommend this if you are looking for fresh and authentic cooking. We were the only tourists inside which I always think is a good thing as you avoid all the tourist traps.

Pros: A few vegan options, Authentic Tuscan food, Affordable and good value

Authentic Tuscan food in Lucca

Had an incredible lunch at this place in Lucca. We were looking for some authentic local food and this place did not disappoint! The best dish was the ovenbaked beans, will have to make them at home!

Pros: Amazing local food, Inexpensive , Lovely surroundings
