You must go To Stachi! - Edit
What a lovely find in Chania. Cute, cheerful, friendly and with a hugely extensive menu of vegan food, with some vegetarian options too. Run by a lifelong family of vegetarians it’s a great place and the food is excellent and inexpensive. We’re so glad we had dinner there and highly recommend it.

Lovely family, delicious food - Edit
We had a great meal here - we were totally stuffed by the end! Everything was totally charming, from the server, who is the daughter, to the wine selection (she pulled the bottles off the shelf and brought them to us to show them to us), to the homemade everything. It was also amazing to know that the family grew much of the vegetables themselves in their garden 4 km out of town.

We just love going there. The food is fresh, well prepared with lots of love and the family that holds the place is very friendly. It's a little bit out of the touristy ways and that's also very nice. We highly recommend.

Best vegan food in Crete so far… - Edit
Absolutely delicious food, the majority of which was vegan or could be made vegan. The best vegan mousaka I’ve ever eaten and an amazing almond milk custard dessert. Manically busy but the staff were completely lovely and prompt even though they were rushed off their feet.

Buenísima comida y mejor personal - Edit
Nos ha encantado la comida, raciones de tamaño razonable a muy buen precio, y si a eso le unimos el trato inmejorable del personal das con un restaurante de cinco estrellas.

I still dream about this place - Edit
I'm leaving this review way to late. We came to this family run restaurant during our holiday in Chania years ago. I'm so happy it still there. The food was superb, proper traditional and almost everything was vegan. We had the pleasure to meet one of the girls that worked there and she was so nice, gave us so many recommendations about the city and even invited us to a vegan gathering that we sadly couldn't attend. I hope we can come back some day!

Keep going back - Edit
Always come here at least once when in Chania. It’s old style, slow (mostly) vegan food cooked with love. It’s mostly traditional Greek dishes with veg (rather than processed substitutes) replacing meat where necessary. Always a joy and always friendly. Top tip: make sure you get some pies to take away for lunch or breakfast the next day.

Perfect Greek food for vegans - Edit
This was the perfect restaurant for us and we visited many times! They serve traditional Greek food with great fresh ingredients and the majority of the menu is vegan or can be made vegan. There was so much choice that even with multiple visits we didn’t manage to work through all of the menu. Each day there are 2 or 3 specials that Stelios or Christa will excitedly describe, usually created from whatever was in season. The staff (family restaurant) were so kind and helpful and just the right level of attentive.
Read moreThe food here really steals the show, some highlights were the Okra cooked in the oven (special), the aubergine appetiser, the green beans, the gigantes (butter beans), spanakopita, pastitscio and moussaka. Nothing we ordered ever disappointed and was always prepared and cooked with great care and love.
We were treated very well on every visit. Would highly recommend.
Pros: Great vegan food wonderfully cooked, Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, So much choice for vegans

We had multiple starters (eggplant, zucchini flowers, stuffed wine leaves, stuffed peppers, spinach pie, stuffed mushrooms and bread). All very tasty and great quality food. Plenty to share. We were told that the stuffed mushrooms were vegan, but had our doubts.

Fantastic vegan Greek food - Edit
This place is a real gem, so many options and all clearly labelled. Plenty gluten free options too. I had the moussaka which was so delicious I ate the whole lot. Iced coffee with almond milk and then a free halva at the end which wasn’t to my taste but a lovely thought. The chef Stelios came out and explained the menu and all the food to us. Very nice family vibe, super welcoming. Don’t miss this plane if you’re in Chania!

I loved eating at To Stachi. It's a lovely place with great original Greek food in Vegan. Every dish was explained by the owner himself and he even told us the recipe for one of his desserts. It is an absolutely go-to when in Crete /Chania!
