Nice vegetarian restaurant with a lot of vegan options

Nice vegetarian restaurant with a lot of vegan options. I took Cretan Spinach Pie (without feta) and a delicious vegan Pastitsio (see picture). Everything was excellent! (My boyfriend is not vegan nor vegetarian, but he absolutely loved everything). The waiters were lovely, too. I heartily reccomend this restaurant 😊❤️

Wonderful place, very special!

Having a meal at To Stachi was a special experience. It is a family restaurant with meals cooked home style and healthy, and you really taste that.
When we entered, the friendly owner explained all the dishes to us and we felt that his heart is really in this restaurant.
We chose the moussaka and the gigantes (beans) and both dishes were delicious. We also got a small portion of an onion dish and a small piece of almond cake for free. The cake was great and the onion dish was good, too, although we aren‘t really a fan of onions.
I also had the Greek mountain tea, which was fantastic.

We really enjoyed our visit here and highly recommend it if you would like to have an authentic experience.

Amazing family run restaurant

This place was so good. The welcoming staff/family were so nice. Lovely to chat to a little and if you speak a little Greek to them it goes a long way.
We had small plates as it was lunch. Good portions, tasty local cuisine and 80% vegan options.
Had a sweet to finish and that was the tipping edge of overindulging, but it doesn’t matter when the food is so good!
Please go and show support

Pros: Tasty, Portions, Welcoming family/staff

Authentic Cretan Food

This is a very nice all vegetarian restaurant in Old Port Chania, is run by a very nice man that is very vegan accommodating. There are plenty of vegan choices on the menu and the prices are reasonable.

Edit: The man that ran this restaurant has passed away and his daughter now runs the restaurant.

Incredible food and service!

My husband and I ate here everyday when we visited Chania recently. The yemista (stuffed tomatoes, dolmades and zucchini flowers) was some of the best we have ever eaten.

Their chickpea soup, pastichio (pasta dish) and kalitsounia (cheese pies) were excellent too. My husband requested chips (french fries) and although not on the menu, they kindly made this for us. The service was fantastic and would highly recommend!

Pros: Everything!

Cons: Nothing!

Slow Food Served Swiftly

There were so many vegan options that it was hard to choose. According to the menu, all the dishes are made with extra virgin olive oil from their farm. The Cauliflower was served with black eyed beans and tomato. The Chickpeas soup was made with lemon and the Lentils soup was made with tomato sauce. The Halvas was made of polenta, brown sugar, and seasonal fruits. They even gave us a free sample of Galaktompoureko (almond milk custard pie) and watermelon. I liked the savory dishes much more than the sweets.

Pros: clearly marked vegan options, customer service

Outstanding cuisine that’s mostly vegan

We were blown away by the incredible flavours - traditional Cretan and Greek cuisine which was all vegetarian and most dishes were vegan or could be made vegan on request. Very fresh and flavourful. Highly recommended when in Chania, especially if you’d like to try traditional vegan cuisine in a plant-based way!

Pros: Traditional Greek and Cretan dishes, Mostly vegan menu

Eindelijk vegan sinds weken

Had me er al bij neergelegd dat vegan eten op Kreta moeilijk was, komen we dit tentje tegen waar bijna alles op de kaart vegan is. Lieve bediening, erg lekker eten.

Neat spot but suffers from small size and big popularity

A small, family owned business with a great vibe, but so popular I often had to wait for a table. Unfortunately they sell out of food each day, and both times I went it was for dinner and about half the menu was no longer available for order. Food hit the spot, but having to order my third or fourth choice both times put a damper on things.

Very pleasant dinner

I was a bit tired and was wondering if it was worth it to push to " to stachi"
It was. Th food was good, the service very pleasant, the choices abundant, the decor and atmosphere lovely. A pleasant dinner with takes on traditional Greek cuisine that is for a large part already vegan or vegeterian. Highly recommand.
