Serves meat, vegan options available. Bar and restaurant offering a separate vegan menu with three starters, four main dishes, and three desserts. Open Mon-Fri 09:00-23:00, Sat 09:00-00:00, Sun 10:00-00:00.
Lots of vegan options for starters, mains and desserts.
I had the sourdough with dips as a starter thinking it would be a few pieces… it was a whole loaf of sourdough!!! I’m very full but was delicious.
For my main I has the tempura tenderstem bow buns which came with chilli fries and salad. They were lovely. They also offered a beyond burger with vegan applewood and several other dishes.
I had the plant based roast. It’s was all really nicely done but the main item was a couple of bits of butternut squash. It felt like it was lacking a main item and left me a bit hungry. The vegan Yorkshire puddings were great and that made it feel a bit more special. Even adding a couple of sausages instead of the butternut would be a big improvement. It’s not great value when you compare the price to the meat roasts.
The staff were great and the food came quick. The restaurant is bright, comfortable and relaxed. There was two vegan deserts but for £9 it didn’t sound worth it.
I would still go back though on a different day. It was nice so I’d hope a different meal would be more complete.
During a fairly short visit to Ayr we ate at The Tree House on three occasions. The main menu included several vegetarian dishes - the mushroom crepe was very tasty. It also has a substantial vegan menu (https://www.thetreehouse-ayr.co.uk/menus/#v-menu); you need to ask the waiter/waitress for it. All the vegan dishes we tried were well-cooked and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful.
