Pleasantly surprised! - Edit
Flew in late last night. Thankfully this hotel restaurant was open and had a vegan option - the smash melt. Stopped by this morning to see if there was anything I could have for breakfast and found a tofu grain bowl (w/o the eggs), oatmeal, and açaí bowl. Had the grain bowl subbing more tofu for the eggs. It was delicious and filling.
Read moreThe service last night was subpar (forgot to refill water, didn’t bring silverware, I had to ask to order), however this morning was great!
I am pleasantly pleased with the Commentary.

Slow service, great food - Edit
They have a new menu and are still transitioning to it. We were a big group, and the staff had a hard time taking our orders and delivering them. It took a long time for the drinks to arrive and even longer for the food. Some dishes were wrong, and some (mine included) came way later than others. Anyway, when I finally got my food, I was impressed. The dish was beautiful and incredibly tasty. Wild mushrooms with crispy marble potatoes, roaster creamy leeks, herb roasted tomatoes, and daiya mozzarella cheese. It was absolutely delicious! And a rather big portion, I was completely satisfied after I finished. I hope they adjust better to the new menu so that the service can be improved, because the food is great and definitely worth it! Also, the restaurant is beautiful and fancy, so the prices reflect that.

Hotel Restaurant - Edit
This is the in-house restaurant at the Westin Gateway hotel. It's a pretty-typical hotel restaurant with somewhat-inflated prices and universal appeal for travelers uninterested in crossing the street for something more unique or adventurous. That said, Westin, like a few hotel chains has adopted a brand identity that includes "healthy eating" so there are meatless options.
Read moreAt breakfast served buffet style there is chopped melon, oatmeal and dry, packaged cereal (assuming Raisin Bran is vegan) and potatoes.
Dinner is faux-meat burger and zoodles/quinoa meatballs.
Really not much to recommend the place. Across the street, vegan abundance in every direction. I like Mezeh, a local chain. Sweetleaf, even mega chains like Cava.
Pros: A couple of vegan options.
Cons: Only a couple of vegan options., Not a bargain.
