Nice patio spot on a sunny or rainy day - Edit
Cozy, plant-based cider bar and eatery.
Read moreThe food can be hit or miss, quality-wise. More of a place to have a snack to go along with your cider, rather than a full meal. For some dishes, the price-point feels steep as well for what you receive.
On the plus side, the patio space and overall atmosphere of the place is nice, rain or shine. And the staff and service are excellent.

Pros: Wide selection of ciders, from very dry to sweet, Friendly staff that knows their product, Plant-based menu, proudly so
Cons: Food isn't nearly as good as the ciders, Price

Great food and drinks - Edit
After seeing a previous review I was worried about parking, but found a spot on the same block as soon as I pulled up. We went mostly for drinks but got the spinach and artichoke dip as well as the tofu bites. Food was amazing. Drinks were great and they serve more than just cider. The atmosphere was chill and relaxed. It’s a great spot. It’s on the smaller side so it gets busy fast. Highly recommended.

Was it worth the frustration? - Edit
If you go, make sure you walk or get dropped off. Finding parking was so difficult and infuriating that I was ready to give up. There are no parking lots, lots of one way streets and permit only parking.
Read moreDefinitely 0 out of 5 for accessibility
The staff there, however, are super friendly and welcoming. Maybe they sensed my frustration but they were quite busy but attentive to me.
5/5 for service
the restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating. It’s more a brew pub than restaurant so don’t worry expect anything fancy. The food was ok, given the range of excellent vegan food in Vancouver the food was pretty mid.
3/5 food quality
So, just be prepared to be frustrated if you decide to drive there. Maybe you’ll be luckier than me but once was enough for me
Pros: Service , Atmosphere
Cons: No parking!!!, Food was ok, Expensive for what it was

There is a large public parking lot at the beach, just slightly more than a block away. Not sure it's the restaurant's responsibility to locate parking for you, or for the fact that there are bike lanes. I agree with the rest of your review, though.

food is a bit hit-and-miss - Edit
Very nice place to sit out on the patio in summer.
Read moreWent for brunch and had the benny which was pretty good. The egg was just silken tofu but the hollandaise was good and sufficiently flavourful to make it tasty. All in all a pretty nice meal. It would have been nice if they had refilled the water at some point, especially since it wasn't busy and it was hot out.
I then went back some other day for the 'Fish & Chips' and was rather disappointed. The hearts of palm 'fish' wasn't fishy at all, could have used some nori or something to add a bit of fish flavour. It was also too salty. The chips were thin-cut fries not chips, and there was no vinegar available. The tartar sauce was good though. All in all, I would not recommend the fish & chips.
The cider was, of course, very good, pricey but worth it occasionally.

Fun neighborhood! - Edit
Got brunch at the Cider House and really enjoyed it. We had the hash and the sausage sandwich, as well as the kale artichoke dip. I loved the sandwich! At first I thought it wouldn’t be enough food but it came with breakfast potatoes and was very filling. We sat out on the patio, which was really nice and the servers were super friendly and helpful! Would definitely return.

Most people seem to come here for drinks but they have a great, if narrow, selection of food items as well, including appetizers, entrees, brunch, and one very yummy dessert.

Trendy Urban Bistro - Edit
Vancouver is famous for its ice wine and apple ciders. Well, here has it all. It’s a good place for a small celebration with friends. We ordered cider samples to sip on. Be aware though, these are very delicious yet addictive. We could easily have a refill .. I had a vegan Fish N Chips (hearts of palm & fries) and my friend had a Cider House Burger sub Kale Caesar. Super Tasty! Budget-wise, it’s always pricy to meet the Vancouver standard plus 20% tips in Canada.

Cider en pointe - Edit
Okay, what I love most about Cider House is specific to my situation, but it’s easy walking distance around Kits Beach from the Maritime Museum False Creek Ferry drop. The location is great! Across the street from a Natural Foods Market and near Kits Beach. Worth the price of admission right there.
Read moreThe Ciders are en pointe! Heads up, the menu doesn’t really mention being Ⓥ or plant-based, but everything is. I imagine the Cider House gets a LOT of foot traffic and folk who just like great Ciders so the menu might be making it into a lot of mainstream eaters’ dining routine perhaps without even realizing there are zero animal products. I know it’s Ⓥ so I’m good.
The ceviche was super beachy. My hubs loves the burger and fries. I enjoyed the olives and the kale Cesar though heads up, there is a LOT of fresh chopped garlic in the Cesar. You will smell like garlic after! Worth the sacrifice if you love garlic like me.
Outdoor street dining. Indoor patio-like beach house dining. Very social vibe as a Cider House should be.

Calamari mushrooms - Edit
Have had calamari style mushrooms a few places, this is my favorite. We also had poutine and it was awesome! Cider choices are extensive and not typical super sickeningly sweet like some places.

Food was waaaay too salty. Waited long for table and fulfilled my sodium requirement intake for the year. Really turned my stomach and felt it all night. Cider was good, food was not.

Great ciders, with tons of flavours, the flights are a nice way to sample a variety.
Read moreFood is good, if a little salty! Oyster Mushroom calamari is a treat (not for people who don't like fishy flavours, tastes like scampi).

Pros: Fully vegan, Lots of cider options & tasters, Cute atmosphere

Love them! The kale Caesar is fantastic - Edit
One of our regular favourite spots in the city everything we’ve tried has been great (except maybe the nachos) I love kale Caesar salads and this is my absolute favourite the crispy capers are great and I think it’s crispy plantbase bacon they use which is great. The cider flights are good the blackberry hibiscus is my favourite and the brunch is great too. Good patio for covid times too and you can grab a jar to take to the beach!

Good place if you like cider - Edit
Great selection of (mostly local) ciders - they offer flights so it's a good chance to try many different varieties which is always fun! We had some nibbles as well but decided they were far too expensive considering their size. Not the most "atmospheric" place (I wouldn't go there for a romantic dinner) but definitely OK if you want to meet your friends for a chat.

Dreadful, expensive, no soul - Edit
The ambience is high school cafeteria. The music is bog standard. Cider drinks expensive Sea Cider is great but $9 for a small glass is over the top. Dark Matter beer is great but also overpriced. Avoid the poutine. No excitement there either. Near Kits Beach only positive.
