Veg*n Options - Edit
I was very excited to discover this was right near where I was staying, and patronised the venue for my first two days in LA. I was keen to experience a real live diner with bottomless dishwater coffee, and in this respect at least Swingers did not disappoint.
Read moreThe vegan dishes were basic at best - black beans warmed straight from the can - although the pico de gallo and scrambled chorizo were decent enough. In addition to this I was charged extra for vegan cheese, which is did not request, and for the side of oat milk (which remained untouched as the coffee was too weak to require any creamer, despite the waiter’s advice that the coffee was ‘pretty strong’). Servings were so minuscule as to require a top up elsewhere - evidently one of those joints in which the cooks equate ‘vegan’ with ‘anorexic’.
If you need a late-night meal or snack, Swingers is open til 3am. Once I discovered that such coveted fine dining 100% vegan restaurants such as Crossroads serve incredible meals at comparable prices - and inordinately better (and incomprehensibly cheaper) coffee over the road at Easton’s - I haven’t bothered to return to this diner.

Pros: Friendly service, Great shakes (chocolate peanut), Vegan options, Open late
Cons: Small servings (for vegan dishes at least), Pretty basic fare, Terrible coffee, Overpriced for what it is

Open late great choice - Edit
Stopped by for a drink when most other places were shut. Surprised that it had vegan options and all labelled. Just had chocolate almond milk and a cookie but was great!

Drew Carey and Vegan Sloppy Joe 🔥 - Edit
I used to come to this place a lot for breakfast and late dinner ( more like dinnery snack ) I don’t know if a vegan sloppy joe even though it’s one of the best qualified as dinner?
Read moreDrew Carey would come in the mornings for breakfast I don’t know what he got but I would get the tofu chilaquiles and soyrizo scramble.

Vegan nachos - Edit
I loved how many options they had. I'm so used to a pile of French fires or a veggie burger. My nachos were really good and huge...taking these bad boys home.

Great diner! - Edit
My husband and I stopped here on our last visit to LA, so I knew this would be the perfect spot to stop with the kids after landing and before the hotel. I loved the Veggie Joe and huge vegan rice crispy treat. I wish I could remember what I had on the last trip, but it’s been a while. Clearly it was good enough for me to remember and want to come back! The rest of my family (including picky teens!) loved their non-vegan meals. Perfect diner for vegans and non-vegan alike!
