The best falafel I’ve ever had and definitely the best in town. And I’ve had falafel from the Middle East (not to mention several other countries).
It’s not a basic falafel wrap. They put effort to make it fancy and you can taste it. There’s a touch of cinnamon in the falafel balls. There’s schug (parsley, mint, cilantro tahini sauce). There’s pickled cabbage and fried cauliflower.
It is one of my favorite things to order as takeout.
For whatever reason though you have to pay an extra 50 cents to add hummus to it to make it the perfect falafel. Otherwise it’s dry. Come on Superbaba it should automatically come with hummus.
Another big con is the absolutely insane price. 15.50$ for a falafel wrap? I remember being a teenager and getting the hugest wraps for 6$!! How times have changed sigh. It’s hard to justify buying it often.
Finally, I’ve gone before and gotten falafel that tasted like chicken due to really bad contamination. Because of this I will only order from them around noon when they open in an effort to get my falafel before their frying oil gets too badly contaminated. It could have been just a one-off but paying an hour’s wage for food you can’t eat isn’t something I want to experience again.
I wish they were more careful about cross-contamination.
Cheaper menu option: A side of fries with schug, rather than the mayo.
They make their pita in store everyday so it is fresh and chewy. Crispy Falafel comes with baked cauliflowers and chopped up tomato “salsa” amazing I eat here all the time
