Thai food restaurant located opposite Bangkok Centre hotel, north of Rama 4 road, near Hua Lampong railway & MRTA station. Take subway to end at "Hau Lamphong" station, take exit 3, backtrack on Rama 4 (head east) for 70 meters to Soi Trokphrayasinghaseni, turn left, and the restaurant is on the right with a "vegetarian" sign written in English. Mostly vegan however reported serving egg noodles. Open Mon-Sun 10:00am-9:00pm.

Very poor service - Edit
The place seemed promising at first. But after waiting for our orders for 25mn, when we asked them how much longer we had to wait as we were in a bit of a rush to take a train, they told us that it would take one hour. We cancelled our orders and left. Even accounting for our inability to speak Thai and their very poor English, this is terrible service.

Really impressive! - Edit
We were really pleased with our meal. The menu as a lot of choices and they all looks pretty interesting. We were glad to taste something close to the autentic Thai flavors with a vegan meal.
Read moreThe employees were really nice even if they didn't speak English. We fell like we were at an autentic spot surrended by all the locals sitting at the restaurant 😊

One the best vegan I ever visited - Edit
The menu is extensive. Many traditional options made with tofu and mock. From chicken, to fish, ham, duck... Their sauces are just superb. I returned more than twice. Maybe one of the best vegan places I've tried in my life. Prices are between 60-100 bhat.

99% vegan - Edit
Unassuming little hole-in-the-wall restaurant with loads of vegetarian and vegan optopns. We ordered the crab stir fry without egg, but it sadly still came with egg in it. The stir-fried chicken was marinated in a sauce quite similar to the one Thai roadside stalls marinate their chicken-skewers in, which is amazing. Not-so-amazing was the tiny caterpillar that found its way onto the plate. Rest in space, my little green friend.

Cheap veggie cafeteria - Edit
Really tasty food. We had fried wontons, crispy chick’n and chilli & lime “pork”. The mock meats were delicious. Food is cheap and they give you complimentary ice tea as well. Our 3 dishes came to about AU$10 total. The location is super convenient if you’re commuting through Hua Lamphong station, it’s a 5 min walk away down a little side street.

Excellent Food - Edit
The food here was excellent, it has a wide selection of tofu based meats so I got to try dishes I have never had before such as chilli and lime 'pork'. The restaurant was popular with locals some of whom kindly let my friend and I sit at their table. Can't wait to go back.

Loved the food here so much that I decided to order take-out right away after my meal. Best meals I had while being in Bangkok.

Very near the mainline, good fake meat - Edit
Not much English spoken but they had an english (photo) menu to point at. I tried to ask for drinking water but got iced tea. It was nice and when i drank it rather fast they provided me with a jugfull!
Read moreI got fried fake duck. It was succulent and crispy in a sweet thick sauce. It wasn't shown with rice in the menu but i asked and got. Total price 90 baht.
There was a family of at least 3 generations having a big meal and chatting with the other diners. Nice local place but welcoming.
Pros: Tasty fake meat, Local atmosphere, Free iced tea
Cons: You have to mumble your way in thai, Quiet back street but it's fine

Best veggie food in Bangkok - Edit
We visited here twice in our trip to Thailand. It's down an alley and not well marked out, but worth the trip. We were the only westerners in the place both times we visited, which made it feel a lot more authentic.
Read moreA good range of options, and the fake meats were very interesting. Food was delicious, and the staff were very helpful and patient with us despite our lack of Thai language skills.
Only negative is the cleanliness. I appreciate this is a bit of a culture shock thing, and I am prepared to go with the flow, but it wasn't the cleanest place to eat. The bathroom is in the corner of the kitchen, so you get to see the hygiene first-hand. Still, didn't put me off returning.
Pros: Excellent tasty food, with good portion sizes, Great value, cheapest place we ate in Thailand, Fake meats and range of options
Cons: Cleanliness

Great food! - Edit
Ruyi is for sure in my top three favs for Bangkok! The cuisine here is definitely more Chinese style than indicated above but has a few Thai style dishes. The food is always fresh and made to order. Great flavors, veggies always cooked al dente. Fake meat paradise! A very local place where you will always share a table with the old
Read moreschool veg-heads who will often chat with you (even if they don't speak english!)
Bring a book or something to keep you occupied! As they are usually full it can (but not always) take 30-45
min. to get your food! I'm quite sure there is no WI-FI.
They also have a small buffet cart where you can get
food quickly for take away but this seems to be more
of a morning to late afternoon option.
Ruyi also has a small shop next door that sells dried soja
products, canned as well as a freezer full of mock meats
and other kinds of chili and curry pastes.
Pros: Awesome food, very local, free ice tea!
Cons: possible long wait

Although Happycow says it's Thai, I feel like they serve more Chinese dishes here. The place felt super authentic, full of locals and apparently it's always packed full because it's so popular! Luckily I got there early enough haha.

They give you free iced tea as well, and what I learned from my new English speaking friend I made here, is that it's totally safe to drink for foreigners, it's not made with tap water (or at least not straight from it).
Go here!

A good Jai restaurant near the train station - Edit
This Jai canteen near the train station is very convenient. It offers a wide variety of mock-meat food, soups and noodles. The place is not huge but the staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are low and portions are generous. The food is usually good but the mock-meat is average. The menu still indicates egg noodles but I think they just didn't changed the menu since they turned vegan in April 2018. I would recommend the tom yum soup which is very tasty.
