Very good - Edit
The 3* isn’t accurate. The place gets busy so cut them slack. They do a very good job and food is good. Willing to accommodate veg options.

Great vegan brunch - Edit
This restaurant has really chill vibes. I will never forget the spicy and savory flavors in the Vegan Mexican dish. The potatoes, veggie patties, guacamole, beans, tomatoes, and other vegetables all tasted fresh. The spicy sauce went well with the rest of the food. I also highly recommend the tofu scramble. The tofu tastes amazing and the bread is freshly baked. The service is slow. I think it would be more efficient if there were more servers. Nonetheless, the people were polite and helpful.

Great Vegan options - Edit
We did take out from here on a long COVID road trip and it was delish. I had the vegan Mexican breakfast and it hit all the bases. Amazing guacamole and patties. My meat eating daughter had the burger and gave it a thumbs up as well.

Airport - Chickpea Curry - Edit
Flying out of Winnipeg, I was surprised to find vegan options on the menu at Stella’s. The Chickpea Curry was filling enough to get me home on 2 flights and 3 hour layover. Thanks.

Service is Terrible - Edit
I'm really, really loathe to have to write this because I've been coming to Stellas for years and their food is amazing but their service is so lousy I have to speak up. This is the second time I have gotten TERRIBLE service here. The first time I was with my boyfriend. I got called away on an emergency and he was there alone for half an hour and he said no one came and asked him if he wanted more, a coffee etc. ONCE. Not ONE single time. When I came back, I only got a coffee after I flagged someone else down (not our server) and asked. I had already asked her but didn't receive. Today I asked for wi-fi details AFTER I had ordered drinks and food and was told no they couldn't provide it. One girl actually told me to pack up my stuff and go to starbucks. The manager refused to help me out. I was sitting there with all my fresh food in front of me and my meeting was in 10 minutes. I used my hotspot to have the meeting which costs a fortune because I have a US phone and am therefore roaming internationally. The manager told me "people come here to eat." Well no [censored], what does it look like I"m doing? I can go to any restaurant in town and get wifi, it's 2020, this is what people do, get with the times. Sorry guys, you are really going to have to change the way your treat your customers. I have read articles about how bad you treat your staff, time to maybe revisit your company culture. Unhappy customers usually don't even bother to give feedback, they just leave. I'm sorry I have to leave, I'll miss the awesome food a lot.

An unexpectedly good vegan lunch at the airport. Try the chickpea curry - Edit
I was visiting Winnipeg from South Africa and had a tasty vegan chickpea curry at Stella’s. A generous portion of utterly delicious curry with lovely chutney and other accompaniments. The best place for vegans to eat at the airport. Highly recommended.

Delicious Healthy Meals & Comfort Foods - Plenty of Plant-Based Options - Edit
Stella’s is an amazing local chain of restaurants in Winnipeg serving a fantastic variety of healthier, home-cooked, flavourful meals. Their menu has a selection of salads, Thai curries, sandwiches, smoothies, cafe drinks and they are well known for their all-day breakfasts. They have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options as well.
Read moreI have visited Stella’s many times and always love the Pad Thai, Chickpea Curry, Scrambled Tofu and Vegan Mexican Breakfast. I substitute marinated spicy tofu for the breakfast patties in the Vegan Mexican Breakfast to make it gluten free.
Stella’s is always busy (especially for weekend brunch) but I love the atmosphere. It’s a spacious restaurant that is lively, welcoming and cozy.
The service is very fast and the serving staff are friendly, positive and efficient.
Stella’s will always be one of my favourite Winnipeg restaurants and one of my go-to places to eat. Highly recommend!
Pros: Fast and Friendly Service, Tasty Plant-Based Options, Welcoming and Cozy Atmosphere
Cons: Reports of Staff Being Mistreated by Management, Always Busy

Not safe for vegans - Edit
The amount of cross-contamination that happens in Stella's restaurants is unreal. I refuse to eat/drink here as a vegan. They don't even have separate milk containers to steam almond milk.

Reliable, tasty diner food, open early til late night - Edit
Favourites: vegan Mexican or tofu scramble with toasted house-made bread; grilled vegetable sandwich with salad (vegans, sub hummus for pesto & omit feta), dragon bowl, vegan chocolate cake or cupcakes. They are very generous with their dressing, so I ask for it on the side. Prices are reasonable, baking is done in-house and menu choices for one's omnivorous dining companions run from tourtière or gravlax to traditional diner fare like eggs and toast. I like the Pembina location's rooftop patio and thoughtfully-designed gender-neutral washrooms.

Vegan Mexican Breakfast - Edit
A few good options. I don’t enjoy their burgers as they’re too bland when they vegan-ize them. Their pad Thai is very good but I almost always get the V Mexican Breakfast.

Stella's has a few really good vegan options. My favourites are the tofu scramble and the pad thai. The best thing they have is the vegan chocolate cake. I have yet to find any other that tastes better!

Awesome brunch! - Edit
They have quite a few items on the menu that are vegan. Our Airbnb was not too far from their location on Sherbrooke St, so we were happy to see that they had brunch even during the week. I had the mexican vegan and it was awesome and kept me full for the rest of the afternoon while at the Human Rights museum.

Stella's was my favorite place to eat when visiting Winnipeg
Read moreWhile this restaurant is not vegetarian they have many vegan and vegetarian offerings. They are clearly marked on the menu.
I had the Vegan Mexican for $10.45. The portion was large and it was amazing.
It included corn tortillas, refried beans, homemade breakfast patties, spinach and mushrooms. It was served with salsa, guacamole and roasted potatoes.
Another day I had the vegetarian lasagna with an arugula salad. The arugula was perfect, not too bitter. The lasagna was quite cheesy but I loved it. Many of their items are vegan or can be made vegan though not the lasagna.
They have numerous locations. This one is located near the University. It was clean, bright and arty.
Many of the restaurants in Winnipeg had few choices for vegetarians so I was delighted to finally have a good vegan meal.
Stellas also has a location at the Winnipeg airport just before security. It was so nice to have a delicious vegan breakfast before my flight. I also ordered the mushroom ragout for the plane.
Pros: delicious , hip, friendly service
Cons: serves meat
