Try the ala carte buffet - Edit
They serve ala carte buffet items at HKD$78 for lunch, $88 dinner. Made to order. However the menu is in Cantonese so you will need a friend. The servers aren't very courteous, don't expect them to explain the menu in English to you. They will yell at you if you order 12 items at once. But over all every item is delicious, decent price. Will visit again.

I was disappointed - Edit
Even though the name says "vegetarian" the place serves meat. They have some vegan dishes, but not too many and they were not tasty + the restaurant is over priced
Read moreI suggest trying other places.

Hi, I had a bit of confusion here when I first went but everything on the menu is actually vegetarian. When it says 'pork' it is just imitation pork. I can understand without knowing this the menu would seem pretty limited. I found their imitation meats to be really nice, and I ususally am not a fan of fake meat.

Sino Vegetarian, Hong Kong - Edit
I ate here last night as part of a group of 17 with the Meat Free Hong Kong group in meetup.com. The restaurant dishes up great food. All 13 dishes were vegan tasted great. At 125 hkd per person this worked out as a pretty good deal. we had a lot of full and happy people at the end.

The location is right at the end of Parkes St on the corner of Saigon St. It's maybe 2 mins walk from exit A of Jordan MTR.
It's a Chinese place in which as others have said there are things on the menu to indicate use of eggs, cheese, butter.
I went for the mix vegetables in curry sauce. Very nice and a decent sized portion. It was 68 bucks (I didn't order any rice). When I was sat at the table I was presented with a small nibbles dish with some marinated tofu. That cost 9 bucks. I declined the tea so that when they added 10% the total bill was 85 hkd.
There we 3 menus. One was in Chinese and English, the other 2 in Chinese only (supplemented with pictures).
I enjoyed my food here and worth considering if you are in this area.
Pros: Vegan friendly, Great food

Undercooked and greasy - Edit
Ordered some fried rice with some fake meats and some of the ingredients were WAY undercooked..
Read moreThe spring onions were still hard and woody, so were the green beans and not to speak of the large chunks of ginger and to top it of it was covered in a layer of fat that made me feel really bloated.
I would not recommend anyone this place..
Pros: Generous size portions
Cons: Undercooked, Greasy, Noisy

Fast Service, A Little Pricey - Edit
Located near Temple Street market, this restaurant is mostly filled with local customers but has menus in both English and Chinese.
Read moreLots of fake meat dishes, we ordered beef and peaches, and mutton with steam buns. Both were delicious but with tea and service charge the bill was over $170 which is a little high.
Pros: Tasty, Good Location, Quick Service
Cons: Noisy, Pricey

Packed and Lively - Edit
Place was packed with locals. Nice variety of mock meats. I ordered a plate the provides a sampling of six different mock meats that they serve, all prepared differently. A good intro to the restaurant. My food was neither spicy nor greasy. It was an excellent meal. The place is at the upper end of moderate, once you add a tea charge (never saw this on the mainland) and a 10% service charge. But it was an excellent meal.

So-so - Edit
Typical contemporary Buddhist cuisine, lots of fake meats and some dairy/eggs. Food was not bad, good portions, but a bit greasy. Tables were cramped, place was full, and it was very noisy throughout our dinner. My friend and I ordered three dishes and the bill totaled HKD220 including 10% service charge, rather high for that area and the whole dining experience.

Feels like good home cooking! - Edit
Even though I liked their old menu better, their new menu still has plenty of good stuff. If you can read Chinese, they have a very reasonable set lunch menu that has a choice of three mains and comes with soup. I noticed that this is what most of the locals order. Staff are always polite and efficient.

good food, popular with locals - Edit
Went here on a Friday night. Filled mostly with locals, there were only 2 other tourists besides us. It was noisy, but so is every other restaurant in HK. everything with eggs was marked. Had fried dumplings which had a good filling, but I personally don't like deep fried foods; the good thing is that they weren't excessively oily. Tried the fish and a hot pot w/ veggie meatballs. The fish in sweet and sour sauce. was delicious; it didn't taste like fish, but it was a nice light flavor. My omni friend enjoyed that dish. The hot pot was a clay pot w/ mushroom broth, greens, & meatballs. I enjoyed it, the meatballs were nicely flavored. I'm from the states and normally dislike fake meat but this was quite tasty. Food seemed like a fair price; there is a menu outside of the restaurant.
