Yum!

We quickly dropped in before our trip back to Darwin and regretted it immediately. This place made us want to miss our plane and eat pancakes there all day. Lovely food, lovely staff, lovely ambience and items to bring back home!!!

Morning shift

A genuine vegan (not just plant-based) cafe. It’s been one of my favourite breakfast stops for years when I visit Sydney. At the moment I’m really cherishing places like this that have managed to stay open. Most recently I tried the smashed avo with tomato, new on the menu since I was last there, delicious and fresh, albeit without a lemon slice. The big breakfast was also different from last time, and very good: a delicious mushroom omelette and tasty beans, with a decent amount of toast to put them on. The only slightly disappointing component was the below-par sausage. The coffee was excellent. Everything is served with a friendly smile. I’ll keep coming back.

I’m sad not to rate this vegan business higher ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 15/4/202
This place was literally along the road from where we were staying and open ever day of the holiday weekend, so we had to come here at least three times. I hadn’t been in five years but it was just as I remembered, with the addition of QR codes. Over our three visits I found the coffee and food to be good but not great. The bacon and egg bagel was OK but lacked the sharp, salty flavour I want and the egg was hard to find. The salmon bagel was a bit too light on the salmon and more like a cucumber bagel. The banana bread was a bit solid and lacked texture and evidence of butter. The no-frills avo toast was very good, particularly with the side of roast mushrooms. I haven’t tried any of the more substantial lunch items but in the meantime I’m still finding the cafe just so-so, much as I’d like to rate this vegan institution higher.

Pros: Genuine vegan cafe, Delicious breakfast and coffee, Super friendly service

Cons: Sausage in big breakfast not what it could be

Completely vegan

The whole menu is vegan which is amazing and my food was delicious! I got the chicken shnitzel sandwich and it was a great hangover remedy lol. They also have bakery items and pantry items

Wanted to like it more

The vibes were great on the inside and service was friendly. We got a carrot cake and the bagel breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon. Since this place advertises itself as a deli, we thought the bacon would be the star but we only got one small piece on our bagel which could only be tasted if eaten separately from the sandwich. The overpowering taste was unfortunately barbecue sauce which didn't seem to fit. The carrot cake was a bit dry and not too memorable either.

So yum

Both green smoothie and bacon and egg bagel were perfect. Quick service too, for somewhere so popular.

Affordable 100% Vegan Brunch

Stopped by this brunch spot on our way back to the airport, I had the banana bread and my friend had a toastie. Both were delicious and the pricing was quite affordable.

Pros: Delicious , Affordable

Cons: Limited seating, may get very busy on weekends

Great for a toastie

Great little place that is 100% vegan. I ordered two sandwiches. The mushroom is definitely a must try. Would be keen to try the pancakes but would love to see more brekkie options

Pros: Location , Options , Taste

Cons: Expensive

Best lamb wrap I’ve ever had

I came on 2 separate occasions and got Reuben’s vegan brother Steve, as well as the Poke bowl and the lamb wrap (both of which I shared with my friend). All three were delicious, but the lamb wrap was by far my favorite! I also got the brownie, the carrot cake, and the caramel slice, all of which were fantastic. The lamb wrap and caramel slice probably take the cake for me!!

Also, the service here is excellent, and there’s napkins and tap water that you can get as you please.

Eat here for breakfast

I had the big breakfast and it was amazing and so filling. This is located near the central train station and has seating inside and out. The omelette is great and is made with cheese that melts. The coffee is good too!

Pros: The food , The options , The location

I went there and it was hard to make a choice, everything on the menu sounds so good.
I took the vegan Bagel with bacon, was really tasty. And also a matcha Latte with Soymilk.
The staff was really nice and the atmosphere was great too.
A place i will return for sure

fine but a bit expensive

I would say this place is just FINE. Ordering is easy, via a QR code, and the options look good, but often come in smaller portions than the pictures on the menu.

You can customise things pretty well but it all comes with a cost, and I think $5 for one cut up sausage on the side is pretty steep. The food here was good but I've eaten in more creative and thoughtful vegan places for the same price, so I'd say it's just fine.

Can’t wait to go again

Lovely coffee (tried decaf first time) for a good price.
Friendly and helpful Service.
lovely seating outside in a quiet street.
Had the eggles omelette which was decent. Melted cheese inside and Parmesan on top. Salad dressing stole the show though. Omelette could have been hotter and more seasoned.
Food looks great overall (sandwich and wrap at other table). Agree that the salad and other dishes vary in size.
Omelette and salad were rather small. Sandwich looks big
Can’t wait to go again.
They have baked goods too and also a little deli with cheese, bars and drinks to buy. Everything vegan here #Veganuary

Mamma Mia I’m obsessed

I usually don’t trust reviews from vegan cafés or restaurants. They are usually overpriced and not that good. And I’m saying that as 5 year vegan. But today I went to Shift Eatery and omg that Lamb & Tzatziki Wrap blew my mind. So good, the sauce, the greens, the meat. Everything perfectly seasoned. I’d only have added more sauce to it as I’m a saucy girl hahaha
With it I had the Mocha with oat milk and that was just a pretty good regular coffee for me.
It was 20.90$ for the wrap and 5.17$ for the mocha. A bit pricy but I guess that’s Australia generally

Consistently delicious

I’ve been to Shift several times, and it never disappoints. Their vegan Thai salad is delicious —fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. Whether it’s a quick lunch or a breakfast , it always hits the spot. Consistently great food and a reliable go-to!.
Their vegan “bacon and egg” bagel is also great.

Delicious food, proudly vegan café

Found this place on HappyCow and was very pleasantly surprised to see lots of familiar brands being sold here, including Karma Cola, Vego bars and Nomo chocolate! I bought a delicious vegan ham and cheese toastie with generous portions of vegan ham, cheese and mayo. The bread was super fluffy on the inside, and crispy on the outside 🤤 Bought a few Vego bars for the road too 😋 100% of the menu is vegan, and they also support Moo to Ewe Sanctuary and have photos of some of the residents on display ❤️ Great to find such a #proudlyvegan place for my first meal in Sydney! #veganaustralia #vegantravel #vegansydney

One time to try, second time to cry (for more)! 🤤 We would have stayed in Sydney longer just to have come here a third time!

Pros: Delicious food, Nicest staff
