American dinner with a vegetarian menu - Edit
American dinner vibes and was greeted by the owner who shared the history of his restaurant and that it's his mother who is vegetarian and named Shelley. Staff is nice and attentive. Food is nothing special and burger is a bit blend. The fries also are simple ones. I was expecting something more home made. I would put more like 3.5 just because of service.

Diner food - Edit
I drove by this place a few times not realizing that Shelly's is Eddie's. It's not actually a vegetatarian restaurant, it just has two menus, which I'm realizing is a thing in Vietnam.
Read moreIt's pretty good if you are looking for classic American. The menu is solid. Burgers, shakes, biscuits and gravy.
I went with my veggie eating companion. We got the two different kinds of veggie burgers. One is veg, one is vegan. They were both made in-house.
They were both decent, but I wouldn't say either was a wow. The coleslaw is really good though. I'll be back to try the biscuits and gravy / breakfast menu.
I give it a 4 as it's pretty expensive and there is much better food in the area. But if you want to go to a 50s dinner, this is the best option.

Classic American Diner in HCMC, with a full vegetarian menu. - Edit
The correct name of the place is Eddie's. Eddie is the father of the owner (the owner is from Minnesota). Shelly is the owner's mother. They have 2 full, very similar menus. The "Eddie's" menu is the regular menu and the "Shelley's" is the Vegetarian menu. It's a little confusing until you see it, then it makes sense.
Read moreThis is an authentic American Diner serving comfort food at reasonable prices.
The milkshakes are incredible. Soooo many varieties to chose from and are absolutely authentic. Thick and creamy. Small is delivered in the classic milk shake glass, large is delivered in the same glass, with the metal mixing cylinder that contains extra milkshake. BEST MILKSHAKE I'VE HAD IN THE PAST DECADE - and I've had quite a few - and hands down the best in SE Asia.
The breakfast sandwich (2 fried eggs and cheese ona soft bagel) was the perfect meal (served all day as any good diner should, it's what I had for dinner). The fries covered in a 3 bean veggie chili were good too. And the vegetarian tomato soup was also delicious.
Friendly staff and they accept credit cards too.

Whole vegetarian menu! - Edit
The staff really understands vegan and they have a while menu for vegetarians. I wish it had more vegan options but the burger was good and the onion rings! Price a bit high but good southern comfort food.
