I loved the vegan coconut red curry dish I ate here. It was very flavourful. The only little negative thing is that the shapes for the small tables are too low compared to the height of the tables which makes it uncomfortable to eat. Even I who’s a tall person struggled a bit.

True to its name, this restaurang really seems like a hidden garden the way it's tucked away from the street in a relaxing environment. Me and my boyfriend had sushi, ramen and onigiri here, and we loved it all! The lime "tea" was also very nice, although I might have chosen a cool drink to go with my ramen a second time.

The only complaint I have is that there wasn't enough vinegar in the rice. Otherwise the vegan sushi was excellent, with much more variety than you get with vegetarian options in typical sushi places. Also like the decor, the atmosphere, the service, everything.

This place has a very special and beautiful interior, nice music, friendly staff and very tasty food. They offer a variety of sushi, starters and main dishes as well as cocktails, smoothies and other non-alcoholic drinks. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Best vegan sushi that I have ever tried. The place is incredible, excellent to have a good time and eat delicious asian food. Highly recommended. The service is also really good. It is a good idea to go for lunch with friends, during the week when is not that busy. I do not eat tofu and it was easy to ask them to not put it in my dishes.

Really friendly service and food was with us very quickly.
Another bonus was a vegan shoe shop next door, and a vegan cafe as well as a vegan supermarket right below! What more could you ask for

So many amazing options from yakitori skewers, dumplings, sushi, ramen, salads, drinks desserts all original and plant based!! The pricing was really reasonable too. The restaurant design is great and it’s just an amazing place to be, truly a secret garden in Berlin. Cannot wait to go back again sometime.

Read moreEin Kinderstuhl wurde uns zur Verfügung gestellt und da unsere Kinder schon sehr müde/ hungrig waren, bekamen wir sogar vorab Reis und Gurke für die Kleinen! Aber alle Bestellungen wurden superschnell serviert.
Und was soll ich sagen: Preis-Leistung ist genial! Auch unsere Begleitung - zwei Omnivore - waren begeistert. Und würden da jederzeit wieder hingehen.

Located in the former premises of „The Bowl“ this restaurant is lovely decorated and great for people watching as you overlook Warschauer Brücke. The menu offers a great selection of vegan food. We went for homemade lemonade and two starters. The starters were delicious and the lemonade good, although I prefer them to be a bit sweeter. Had sushi as a main and it was incredible. I also tried the „Green Harmony“ for dessert and it was something new to me, but I really liked it. Very affordable. Staff was friendly and super quick. Had to wait less than five minutes for our starters to arrive. Card payment possible.

We only had one hour stopover at Berlin Ostbahnhof and a 6,5 hour train ride ahead, but we decided to hurry and have some sushi to go.

Very creative, fresh, tasty sushi rolls. Especially the tempura rolls were amazing.
We will definitely have to come back and have a relaxed experience at the restaurant, because the atmosphere seemed really nice too.

The little restaurant‘s entrance is hidden in the Veganz Supermarket. So it was a little bit difficult to find. But as we arrived we were positively surprised by the nice looking interior and the friendly staff.

The sushi and the spring rolls were amazing. I would definitely recommend going there if you’re looking for some good sushi! The bowl was good, but not outstanding.

On the corner of the Warschauwer Strase, close to the train station with the same name are three vegan shops. The ground floor is for Veganz, the vegan supermarket. On top of that are a vegan shoe shop and the vegan Japanese restaurant called "secret garden".
Read moreThe restaurant looks very Japanese indeed with hanging cloths in the entry. The plants and floor make the restaurant look like a big, beautiful Japanese garden. However, the big tables, big windows, open kitchen and sheer size of the place make the restaurant feel massive and everything but intimate. Also, it turns out the menu is Japanese fusion, with influences of other Asian kitchens as well. The menu is available in German and English and the staff is multi lingual as well.
I felt like having Japanese udon (big noodles) and they were on the menu. The so-called "Bamboo Forrest" is made from udon noodles, bamboo sprouts, sesame, princess beans, yakitori skewers and green tea-tamari sauce. This sounds great, but is in fact as confusing as the rest of the place. Some of the ingredients can hardly be found (like the green tea sauce), while others don't taste like authentic Japanese food at all. That's why the staff was quick to inform me that Secret Garden is Japanese inspired, not pure Japanese.
While I had a decent meal, it was nothing special. The taste wasn't unique, the quality of the ingredients wasn't exceptional and the presentation wasn't above average either. Judging by the menu and the beautiful decoration I expected more, but in fact I was left confused. Do eat at Secret Garden, you'll have a good time, but don't expect authentic Japanese food or anything above average.
Pros: decent size portions, quick service, fair prices
Cons: confusing concept, feels massive, no secret garden at all

But boy oh boy what a good decision it was.
The restaurant is gorgeous and very cosy.
The menu is concise and short but absolutely delicious. The sushi recipes are divine but the prices remain affordable.
We had a plate of each of the 4 piece recipe and shared among the 4 of us, and also shared each of the deserts.
We will definitely come back and are quite sad they don't deliver!

Also one of the restaurants from the 1990 family. It’s really great for a date night out. The summer rolls as starters were great. The sushi was good, very experimental and you even get a cool dry ice show when ordering several different sushi. It was all just a bit too much. As they use black rice for the sushi, which is really heavy, they could’ve asked, if we really want to eat so much, or explain the heaviness of the food to us.
