NOT VEGAN. NOT PLANT BASED. PAYS TO ENSLAVE ANIMALS

Such a sad first review, hopefully a learning experience for everyone at this "insect and plant based" restaurant. I didn't learn much of anything, because I already knew you can't trust anti-vegans selling food to vegans, but I did learn that it doesn't really matter where you are in the world, the evil human head of animal exploitation will rear itself to mock and deceive vegans-- for profit.

I looked over the popular items online and saw a salted-egg dish. So I wrote and a representative replied that this was chickpea flour and they are "100% Plant Based." On arrival, my server asked me if I was vegan and said they get a lot of vegans there, I said that seems reasonable.

Then I looked over their expansive/expensive menu and something caught my eye. "Wild Flower Honey" on one of the smoothie bowls. To confirm with the server, I asked if it was from bees or perhaps human processed nectar. He said not bees but he would check. He came back in a few moments and said the honey came directly from plants and not bees. He showed me an image of the product on his tablet. He pointed to a green logo that indicated halal and said that meant vegan which was absurdly condescending while stupid.

For posterity, I looked up the product myself. Yup. Directly from flowers, collected by bees, into their pollen sacks, vomited up and processed in liquid by fanning it with their wings and then stolen by humans with millions of animal casualties in the process. The most direct route possible.

I told the server that I would bee-leaving to go somewhere else and I did. Can't trust "plant-based" capitalists. What burns me up the most, was the guy knew I was vegan, was happy to lie to me, and even happier to sell me and watch me consume something that violates my beliefs. Typical animal abuser.

Hope they live and learn, that just because the bees can't stand up to the abuse, deception and exploitation, doesn't mean that their human comrades won't.

Pros: didn't spend a dime here, played themselves, reminded me to always check the facts

Cons: liars, animal exploiters, would serve animal products to vegans

Honey is neither ethical nor vegan by definition and certainly isn't both. Feel free to post photos of your updated plant-based honey products (as the one I was shown by your server is not vegan) and I may chose to update my review, but am unlikely to return or share my information as being lied to is sadly both too common and an irreparable offense. I spend money for meals prepared by others only to support vegan businesses. Vegans do not lie to sell food for profit, it's the antithesis of our mission. Good luck.

We acknowledge the lapse in communication at the front end and take full responsibility, committing to providing more comprehensive training for our team to ensure accurate and transparent communication. We appreciate your commitment to supporting vegan businesses, and we share the same mission. In the spirit of transparency, we are updating our documentation, training materials, and online platforms to prevent future misunderstandings. Additionally, we want to clarify that the vegan honey, Vegoney Classic Vegan Honey, is poured into containers for easier access. Your feedback is invaluable, and we look forward to the possibility of serving you better in the future.

Your server showed me the bottle. Now you're trying to convince me that you pour vegan honey into non-vegan honey containers for easier access? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

We understand the importance of transparency, and we would be more than willing to address your concerns. Could we arrange a meeting in person or over the phone? The owners would like to explain and gain a deeper understanding of your feedback. Our commitment lies in serving the right ingredients, and we strongly advocate for the benefits of a wholesome, plant-based, vegan diet to combat lifestyle diseases. There was no intention to mislead, lie, or cause harm. As a restaurant still in its early stages (only three months old), we value your current feedback and assure you that no non-vegan honey will be served. We kindly ask for your understanding as we continue to make improvements.

You may message me in the app to arrange a private consultation on business ethics and honesty, but I will require payment up front as you have already given me reasons to be mistrustful. 🤣
