Dragged my boyfriend on a 45-min side quest to get a pistachio cruffin from here. 100% worth it.

Wil alles eten. - Edit
Erg lekkere broodjes!

Worth the hype!! - Edit
Pistachio cruffin is probably the best pastry I ever had. It’s filled with so much pistachio cream that I almost didn’t feel bad paying 6€ for one pastry… twice!
Read moreI also tried their vanilla brioche, cinnamon roll (not my favorite) and pistachio croissant. LOVED IT!
Their matcha latte is also very good and my bf liked their coffee as well.

Wow wow wow - Edit
Probably the best vegan pastries I have had (specifically the pain Suisse was sublime). I made my way to the city during a long layover to check out this bakery and it was 100% worth it. Check the deli across the street for more savory items!

This bakery is a true gem!! The vegan selection is out of this world and the coffee is delicious. I especially loved the spicy cheese croissant. The staff is friendly and took the time to chat with us and answer our questions. A must visit.

Incredible pastry selection - mostly savoury and absolutely delicious. I had a za'tar croissant filled with lebaneh cream. The pastry was so buttery and perfect and the flavours were magic.

Chocolade hazelnoot croissant was heel lekker.

The place is nice and the music is really cool I find it a bit pricey and even if you drink inside they provide you with a plastic cup.

Excellente viennoiseries - Edit
On a pris une sorte de beignet à la crème de pistache et "elderflower Danish". Non seulement les viennoiseries étaient très copieuses, mais aussi particulièrement réussies et généreuses en garnitures.

Pastry! - Edit
I made a point to stop in bc the internet said Saint Jean was the place to get a vegan appeltaartje, but unfortunately they didn't have one. Staff said they usually only have them in the fall, so, fyi.
Read moreSince I'm not one to pass up vegan pastry, I made some alternate selections, one was a savory option with some mushrooms and kale and what I think was a cheese-esque cream. It was good, it also had a bit of some sort of veggie jam and that was my favorite part of it, so I feel like it could have used a bit more. It was beautiful though (and I forgot pictures) and the pastry was really flaky.
I got a sweet option also.
I think they have different pastries day to day. They also had a few sandwiches in the case. The person before me was looking for something that had sold out already that day, so if you want to guarantee your best choice, you may want to go early. I came in a bit after lunch time.

Saint-Jean bakery and deli - Edit
Every time I visit the bakery and deli I want to try everything, because all the baked goods are absolutely beautiful! The pistachio filling is especially amazing. Every pastry I tried so far was delicious and such high quality. The only downside is that it’s a bit pricy. However it’s totally worth your time and money!! The deli across the street is a lovely place to enjoy your baked goods with coffee (and pistachio milk). I highly recommend to go out your way to stop by!
