Evening ruined by loud people

The food was delicious. I had a vegan thali and, apart from one which was too spicy for my personal taste, all of the curries were lovely. My only criticisms regarding the food are that it all came out at once and it could easily have been 100% vegan. The thali included a pudding (sheera) which I’d rather it hadn’t so I could have it later, warmer and in a larger portion.

The main problem was the atmosphere. One loud group of people ruined the evening for everyone. I would come again, but I’d pick a quieter time and hope that group didn’t return.

Amazing value

Shared the vegan thali and dosa with a friend and it was SO MUCH food. Everything was delicious, and our waiter (Isaac) was so friendly, remembering our specific wine orders (even the wines are specified vegan/veggie). Such a great find!

Pros: Huge range of vegan options, Great value for money, Super-friendly service

Excellent food and service!

A great menu with loads of vegan options at a reasonable price. Every dish was delicious and enjoyed by all the family. We particularly liked the okra, but everything was really tasty. Isaac was very friendly and helpful and we would definitely recommend this to everyone

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Cheap, Great location

Family Favorite

Always enjoy eating here, their lunch time special is great value for Central London, and for me, it is the best place in Central London to dine. Great Chana Masala, Samosas and Dosas. Just great Indian food, wish they had a branch in Brighton.

Pros: Many Vegan options, Nice Staff, Great Food

Cons: Not in Brighton

The real deal.

Saag aloo. Lemon rice and paratha.
There was a 30 minute delay because of n issue in the kitchen but this food is amazing. Vibrant restaurant in Covent Garden which needs to be booked.

Perfect!

Very busy and friendly Indian veggie restaurant 5 minute walk from Covent Garden tube station. Menu is 80% vegan. Loads of choice and really great food. This will be our go to curry place in London now we've found it.

Pros: Mainly vegan, lots of choice

Excellent vegan curry

Vegetarian traditional Indian restaurant with vegan options clearly labelled. We went for the vegan thali platter which was very tasty and filling. Varied range of curries and not too spicy. Fast and friendly service.

Amazing food and good prices!

I enjoyed the fried lentil doughnut and my Zeera Aloo was nice.
The dessert was a crepe with some delicious filling, which went very well with the vegan vanilla ice cream.
Without drinks, starter, main and dessert was £20pp.
I will definitely come back!

Pros: Many vegan options, Different Indian food

Unfussy with great vegan choices

It was a pleasure to find this unfussy, traditionally Indian restaurant at such central location. Perhaps the masala lacked the spice punch but the dosa was crisp. Also, contrary to previous reports, most dishes were vegan when visited in Feb 2020

Pros: Mostly vegan, Varied menu

Cons: More heat & spice would have been great

Such good flavours

The restaurant itself is basic, but have got the vegan thali maybe 10 times and love it! Authentic South Indian food with great flavours. Vegan menu has got even clearer over the years.

Pros: Clear vegan options, Vegan wine, Great flavour

Disappointing

Came with a vegetarian and a 'reduce-itarian'. Vegan options tbh were limited, and the quality when they came was really disappointing for the central London pricing. Like a (much less oily tbf) average takeaway Indian in quality to be honest.

Dosa disappointing, curries disappointing. Samosa ok but not great. The place was pretty rammed at about 6:30-7pm - we booked but staff were so busy that they couldn't really check, and then were really rude prompting us to order (genuinely twice inside ten minutes) and charging us £6 for poppadoms before we had seen a menu.

I don't know why this is rated so highly, there are so many great options in London and this isn't one of them.

Pros: Able to book in advance

Cons: Expensive, Boring range of averagely executed options, Really busy and they dealt with this badly/rudely

Tasty and affordable

Extremely tasty and highly affordable, the vegan choice is huge and they also have vegan ice cream and desserts. Portions are generous so be sure to not order too much! If you like indian food it's a really good place.

Pros: Loads of vegan options

Paper dosa

We got a mixed veg curry, which was pretty good but nothing spectacular. The paper dosa was amazing - that’s the thing to get!

Sehr lecker

Wer indisch mag, ist hier richtig. Da alles vegetarisch ist, muss man nicht suchen und es gibt auch viele vegane Alternativen.
Der Service ist jedoch weniger gut, jedoch freundlich.

Sagar

You know what? No... No I don't need to go to this location again, it's pretty bad in many ways.

1. The service is completely awful, I say that after visiting a few Sagar locations. This one is consistently bad. I waited forever for them to take my order and finally had to go to the waiter stand to place my order instead, same when it came time to paying my bill. The servers are always like this here, or they are just unfriendly overall. Unacceptable.

2. I asked for extra spicy and I'm pretty sure there wasn't a single spice in my food. WTH???

3. The dal was really awful, don't get it.

Try one of the other locations instead.

Vegan choices

We came here on a Saturday night about 9:30pm and it was very busy, even at 10:30pm people were still piling in so it was great to see a vegetarian restaurant that’s so popular.

All of the menu is vegetarian but over half of it was vegan so there is lots of choice. We ordered the Thali so that we could try lots of small dishes. My husband really enjoyed his, it came with 6 small dishes, a rice, s poppodom, a bread and a dessert for £18ish. I enjoyed mine but it wasn’t very hot so I sent it back and unfortunately they were a bit grumpy about it which was disappointing. Once I got a hot version I did really enjoy it and our regular waiter was very friendly and funny.

I would recommend the place as the food was nice and the service was good but it is quite expensive.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Quite expensive for what you get

Doughnuts!!?!

A great variety of vegan (and Gluten Free ) options available and helpful staff.
I discovered what a Medu Vada is, so if you are unsure about which starter to have, you need to try these. Some say it’s a doughnut. All I know it is amazing!

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Lots of Gluten Free options , Great detailed menu

Great food and many vegan options

A fantastic menu with so many options including allergens listed within the menu eg gluten free/garlic or onion free/ what contains dairy etc. So many vegan dishes - big portions and good prices considering the area. The perfect vegan stop off before a trip to the theatre! We enjoyed the bhaji, vegan thali and curries.

Pros: Allergens clearly listed, Many vegan options, Good price
