Great shareable food - Edit
We had the cauliflower wing appetizer and Mercato and Kitfo for our group of 4. Cocktails and food were great. Such delicious berbere!

Great food and service - Edit
The food was great and they had gluten free injera. Many dishes were unable to be modified. Though my dish was great, flexibility for dietary restrictions is helpful.

5 stars on flavor. - Edit
They might have the best mac and cheese I've ever tasted and I've had it around the world. They nailed the right amount of cheese to pasta ratio. I also had the lentil dip with the injera chips. Everything was great and I realize this is NYC, but I was hoping the portion sizes would've been just a little larger considering the price point. Not a knock, just be aware. Will be back!

Highly recommend! - Edit
I have had this place saved for MONTHS, and it was perfect! I got piassa platter which was AMAZING! Don’t skip dessert either because the raw tiramisu was delicious! The staff is so friendly, the service was great and fast, the inside was really cute, too.

Solid - Edit
Delicious and nutritious food and a great way to soft launch one's exposure to Ethiopian cuisine. I wasn't blown away by any of it but all the food was made with high-quality ingredients and carefully prepared, and it was filling and tasty. All a man could ask for. Gotta come back here sometime to try their brunch menu

A taste of Ethiopia - Edit
This is an all-vegan Ethiopian restaurant that started in Brooklyn and has a branch in the West Village of Manhattan. The setting is relaxed and chic, the staff is friendly, and the food is wonderful: creative, tasty, and healthy. We had a party of four and had a couple of platters, a tofu dish, some sides, and a pie--everything was delicious.

Needs 6 stars or more - Edit
Can’t say enough good things about this place. They perform some sort of magical alchemy with their flavors. One of the best restaurants I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere, service, variety of dishes. The nachos are other worldly.

Great food but poor service - Edit
If it had been for the food, I would have given 5 stars but the service was really bad. Server was confused and they were out of kambucha as well as the iced tea I chose instead. So I ended up with water (and it took a long time to get it). Anyway, the food was very good. We had the nacho appetizer and the chicken sandwich.

really great experience - Edit
My friend and I had brunch at RAS on a weekend. The service was great and the food all good. We shared the mac and cheese which was very creamy and flavorful. I had the breakfast special which included a really good egg substitute other good foods. In terms of spiciness, I would say it was somewhat spicy to moderately spicy, so if you're not fond of spicy food, ask your server if there are less spicy options. The injera was perfect. Can't wait to go back to try more things on the menu.

Pros: great service, great presentation, delicious food

Finally, Vegan Ethiopian I Loved! - Edit
Whenever we go to a new place, my husband seeks out a vegan Ethiopian restaurant, which he loves. Me, not so much. FINALLY we found one that made us both happy. The menu has plenty of veganized versions of Ethiopian standards (served on injera), but many (more creative) other options. Tofu in Berber sauce, berbere Mac & Cheese, lots of salads, and unbelievably delicious injera nachos. Very cool vibe with gorgeous murals on every wall. Fabulous on every dimension.

A very memorable experience! Must try! - Edit
Highly recommend. Creative and really awesome Ethiopian food. We had Injera nachos, the Ras tips plate (with seitan), and the Piassa plate with a bunch of very flavorful veggies and lentils. The drinks were awesome too, and we ended the meal with the coconut leches cake.

Amazing Brunch Spot - Edit
Amazing place for vegan Ethiopian food but their Americanized brunch is also delish!
Read moreWe got the Ethiopian breakfast combo, the spiced Mac & cheese, the kitfo breakfast burrito, and the French toast plus yummy drinks!
Highly recommend getting there to try their brunch! The French toast was phenomenal! We brought non-vegan family from out of town and they were thoroughly impressed! Can’t wait to go back!
Pros: Large portions, Great for sharing, Delish brunch

Good Ethiopian food but slowish service and limited AC - Edit
Ordered the Nachos, Mercato Platter, and Mama’s Tofu. The food was good with strong spices but felt a bit greasy and heavy. The injera was really good, and the nachos were our favorite. The platter provides a nice spread with some really good options and some less exciting ones (such as the collard greens that were a bit underseasoned).
Read moreThe restaurant had a fun vibe and ambience, but there was very limited AC even in the back (the front windows/doors were open even on a hot summer night like tonight). The servers were friendly but not the most attentive (e.g., water refills) and the main entrees came out a long time after the starter.

I'm definitely coming back here a bunch of times to try the whole menu! Great food and service.
