One of my fav secret local vegan places

I have lived in Hoi An for almost 5 months till now, and it is one of the gems I found. I am surprised that not many people know it. I have eaten here countless times, and tried everything on their menu, my fav is Mi Quang (I esp. love it comes with a big basket of herbs), and then it is the very rare find Banh Cuon (Vegan Vietnamese rice rolls).

The lady may seem cool at first, but she is actually very warm-hearted. I didn't come for maybe a long time, and then when I reappeared, she came to hug me excitedly, and asked where I went💖.

Although she gives you a menu to read, it is just to orient foreigners, and what you will get really depends on what she has that day. But for sure, usually they have the rice with veggie, Banh Cuon and Mi Quang (occasionally sold out too).

Hoi An people eat vegan on the 1st and 15th of the Lunar calendar, so on these two days of the month, it is packed with locals. But normally, when I come on the other day, there is usually only me 😂.

Pros: Real quick serving, Super cheap, each dish is 30,000VND, Self-serve water, tea, ice near the door

Cons: May not open in late afternoon if it is too hot, Busy on the 1st and 15th Lunar Calender day, Local place, don't expect fancy seating

They know vegan - it's "take what you're given" but so good

We walked in and the woman asked if we were vegan. We said yes and she immediately took off and began preparing.

She handed us a plate with mushrooms, mock meat, rice, rice noodles, aubergine and some other vegetable.

It was all great - even the soup was good.

Good place for lunch or dinner

Good authentic Vietnamese food with mock meats in a small street restaurant.
