Chinese

芊月茗 茶艺素食馆 at 北滨路 鎏嘉码头 8栋 3楼 offers only a set meal, but you could order extra dishes. Menu is in Chinese, but some staff speak English. Large space, nice atmosphere.

Really Wanted to Love This Place 😢

We opted for the 398 RMB preset menu and really wanted to love this place. The presentation was beautiful and the staff were incredibly kind, which made the experience feel welcoming. But unfortunately, most of the dishes were very bland to me and lacked salt — maybe it’s just my Western palate, but the flavors felt muted, and I honestly couldn’t get half of the dishes down.

The rose drink was the clear highlight for us — really lovely. The fried taro and pumpkin seeds were also not bad. But the jelly eggplant was my least favorite; the texture just didn’t work for me at all.

Overall, it’s a gorgeous restaurant with wonderful service, but the flavor profile of the preset menu just wasn’t for me.

A must visit

Fantastic experience. Was able to get a table without a booking. Was recommended the 298RMB menu and it didn't disappoint! Staff asked for dietary requirements and all dishes were explained using a translation app.

Black Pearl Dining Experince

Ordered the 298RMB set menu, started with a discussion (using translator) about preferences and dietary restrictions, asked for no eggs or diary.
In a private room over the next 90 mins, 12 courses were bought out (2 were snacks of fruit, nuts, cake, 1 was a cold soup in a glass) as well as a mini-hotpot.

Each dish was very well put together and nicely plated, and using a translator the staff introduced each dish. Most were based on a variety of mushrooms, but also featured other veg such as carrots and eggplant.

For the price this was an excellent dining experience which I recommend to all.

Best Vegan Restaurant!!

- This place is absolutely magnificent. It is a “black pearl guide” location, which I understand to be similar to the Michelin guide but for China. One of the staff members spoke quite reasonable English and looked after me all evening. You’re supposed to have a reservation but they got me a table within 15 minutes.
- The price when I went was 235 rmb for smaller course and 298 for larger course. As others have said, they ask about your food preferences and spice level preference.
- The courses were exquisite, with the majority of them being mushroom based - morel, porcini, lions mane, koutake to name a few. I ordered the large portion and there were 12 courses including dessert. 3 teas were also included.
- Highly recommend this place to anyone. Arguably one of my favorite restaurants ever!

Excellent

Came here after reading the previous review and was blown away by the service, atmosphere and food. One of the best restaurants I've ever been to, veg or not. Can't recommend highly enough! Set menu around ~135rmb, with the possibility of adding extra dishes at no charge. We made a reservation and they called to check whether we were vegetarian or vegan, and asked about special requests (e.g. no garlic or chili, like chinese monks).

There were about 8 dishes and all were delicious (see pics). The dishes came quickly (maybe because we arrived "late" by chinese standards at about 8pm) but we were in no rush to finish, we stayed about 1.5 hours. We ordered a second helping of 3 or 4 of them. They told us the set menu changes ~monthly. Highly recommended, even to non-veg people!

There is also a massive fish tank outside, with sharks and all sorts of tropical fish.

Friendly service

Set meal only with dietary considerations. Some individual plates and some family style. We ordered the non-spicy meal and the meal was not only not spicy but less heavy than typical Chongqing fare in terms of oil/salt/seasonings. Definitely very filling via lots of vegetables. No mock meats but a few traditional dishes done veg style. Nice setting and while service is fast there are quite a few dishes so expect to spend 2 hours here.
