Happy to find - Edit
We took a fairly long Uber ride to get to Ortea Vegan Collective/Botanista for brunch only to find that it was permanently closed.
Read moreSo we walked for a few blocks after looking up this place.
Initially we were put off because the waitress told us that the whole menu was changing and that some of the vegan options were not going to be on it anymore etc. etc. but ultimately we decided to stay and I got the Howm breakfast which had avocado toast with some tofu scramble, a little dish of vegan yogurt with granola, and a side salad. Chandler got the açai bowl . We topped it all off with a vegan chocolate croissant! Hello!
We were both really really happy with our meals.
And the waitress ended up being really sweet, telling us about places in Algarve that she had stayed when we asked, the location was large and comfortable with a lot of seating, good background music and a mellow cool and comfortable vibe.
I don't know what the new menu will look like so can't say for the future but this was a very good brunch today.

Not good for vegans - Edit
Unless you want avocado and toast don’t go here. It’s veggie but has no vegan labels on the menu and limited vegan options. It’s a shame

Cute little place! - Edit
I may have been a little harsh with the rating but I'll explain why. The food was very good, the waitress attentive and the place is warm. But it's really annoying when there's nothing on the menu about what's vegan and what isn't... Plus, the quantities were a bit light...

Pleasant breakfast - Edit
I had the porridge bowl. Described as cosy, I'd say it could do with being a touch warmer for extra cosiness but it tasted great, with subtle orange notes and delicious lemon peel and cinnamon. Also had a cappuccino and this could also have been hotter. Still, I would return as the menu looks great.

Comida saborosa e super cuidada e espaço lindos - Edit
O primeiro impacto é o espaço! Grande com uma atmosfera super cool! O interior com uma luz mais escura e decoração industrial que amo! Comemos no exterior, muito giro! Pedimos as almôndegas em puré de milho! Adorei o cuidado e cores no prato! Sabores super equilibrados, prato umami!

A Delight to the Tastebuds (: - Edit
I was really impressed by the atmosphere of this place, and their menu focused on plant-based dishes was both innovative and enjoyable. We ordered grilled cabbage, creamy rice with Jerusalem artichoke, meatless balls, and mushrooms with pumpkin.
Read moreThe meatless balls and grilled cabbage dishes provided a delightful sense of novelty - their flavors and textures were distinct and greatly pleased my taste buds. Among them, the meatless balls stood out as my absolute favorite due to their incredible deliciousness.
The grilled cabbage, meatless balls, and mushrooms with pumpkin dishes were generously sauced but didn't come with any other rice. Unfortunately, the menu didn't offer any rice options either, making the dining experience challenging. It would be wonderful if they provided the choice of brown rice or quinoa.
There was noticeable an excessive reliance on oil to add richness to the dishes. This tendency is quite common in vegan restaurants, but it would be fantastic to see a reduction in the use of oil and a greater emphasis on leaner ingredients. Incorporating natural ingredients like cashews for creaminess would be a welcome addition.
Pros: Novel taste and food combination, Tasty Meatless Balls
Cons: Reliance on Oil in the Plate dishes, No added rice or quinoa offering with saucy dishes

Good food and atmosphere, too bad is not fully vegan - Edit
Let's start by saying that all the food on the menu is vegan, so you don't need to worry about it. It's when you order a hot drink that they ask you if you want cow's milk or a plant-based one.
Read moreI imagine that because this is a hotel, they may serve non-vegan food for breakfast, so since they have it in the kitchen, they offer it. But still, it would be so much better if they wouldn't do that and stick to a fully plant-based menu.
Anyway, the food we had was good: the seaweed empanadas, the jackfruit tacos and the meatless balls. Quantity-wise, the starters were good but the main was perhaps lacking something else (some cereal maybe?).
On the night we went, there was a DJ playing (no extra charge).
The interior is quite nice and the staff was friendly.
Hopefully they will reconsider their choices and become fully vegan soon.
Pros: good food, pleasant
Cons: not all vegan, portions can be on the smaller side

Average food - Edit
We came here on our first day in Lisbon. After a morning of walking and exploring, we found this place by looking to see what we could eat in that particular area. We were after a snack/light meal and were there mid afternoon, and were advised that the kitchen was going to close soon but that we could still order. There was a few people there, but service was very slow. The jackfruit tacos were a definite highlight! Unfortunately the rest of the order was just okay therefore I would not recommend.

Was expecting more - Edit
We went there has a group of 4, so we decided to order different dishes and share, so we could try a lot of different dishes. We found the portions small and some dishes lacking flavor. We tried: sourdough bread with garlic butter; chickpea, glazed carrots, pistachios; seaweed empanada; creamy rice with jerusalem artichoke; meatless balls; grilled cabbage; cheesecake and brownie&ice cream. From these, I liked very much the seaweed empanadas thay come with a orange &soy mayo, the glazed carrots and the brownie. The rest was average. Before ordering we asked to confirm if everything was vegan and the answer was yes, but after reading the latest comments here I am worried that 4 vegan people consumed animal ingredients.

Not vegan - Edit
Don’t be fooled, this is not a vegan restaurant but one with vegan options. The latte (after asking if the oat milk was gluten free) came with cow’s milk, and it is the default for all coffees. They made our coffees again but asked why we “thought” it would have had a different milk other than cow and to my dismay I had to explain that it because this place is advertised as vegan. Read the name of the place and the description folks, it is all fake.
Read moreWe also waited 30 mins to be acknowledged by the waiting staff (one person) and only had our food after almost an hour after arrival, and the place was not at full or even half capacity.
The guests that shared our long table ordered eggs. Was this place a joke? Yes
Pros: Vegan options, Food was tasty, Mid range pricing
Cons: Understaffed

Love at First Bite - Edit
I really wanted to spend the afternoon at Power Plant just so I could try everything. But I had a pretty good selection that made my mouth dance with joy. From the sourdough bread to the cheeseboard, taste buds started off on a high. The I followed up with a taste of the "fish like" sandwich and jackfruit taco. I was so full that i got the carrot cake to go.

Work in progress - Edit
Powerplant is new and it has potential but needs a lil bit of work to get there. Three of us ordered the meatless balls (€12), creamy rice (€13), and cabbage (€10) to share - all of the dishes were very small for their price, they seemed more tapas sized and each needed a bit more substance to be a proper main. For example, the roasted cabbage dish was maybe a fourth of a head of cabbage in sauce.
Read moreI will say the cheesecake was delicious, by far our favorite part of the meal. The restaurant is in a nice location, it's a cool space. Hopefully the menu will get worked out a bit more, the flavors are there, the restaurant has a lot of promise!

Delicious food in a cute spot! - Edit
I recently heard about Powerplant and as I've been living in Lisbon for a couple of years and wrote the Vegan Guide to Lisbon, I had to check it out. I ordered the katsu curry sandwich and it was really tasty. Next time, I'm going with more people so I can try more of the offerings. My friends also got the sandwich and loved it, but also got the corn fritters and cheesecake and said they were spectacular. I can't wait to go back to try more of the creative dishes.

4.5* - A new Lisbon star in the making - Edit
As soon as I learned about Powerplant, a new Vegan restaurant in town, I added it to my list. It's getting harder and harder to keep up the pace and visit every restaurant, but I think this is great news, it means there's a lot of new vegan places!
Read moreSo, last weekend I finally had the opportunity to visit Powerplant, and overall I really liked the food! I tried the fried cauliflower balls, the tacos (forgot to take a picture...) and the celeriac sandwich and they were all quite tasty and well made, taste-wise they were perfect. I believe the portion sizes still need to be adjusted on some dishes though, the tacos are well worth the price, but the sandwich feels small for 10€, I would rather pay a couple more euros and get a bigger sandwich, or pay a couple less for this size. Same applies for the cauliflower, it was really good, but around the corner you get a whole cauliflower with great seasoning at Honest Greens for the same price... and a very similar type of restaurant.
They only have 2 dessert options: the vegan Basque cheese tart and a brownie... they were out of brownie but they were super nice and told us about a new mousse with strawberries. Both desserts were very tasty, and I will definitely have them again. Curiously for the desserts I also believe they are correctly priced, even if they cost a bit more, it wouldn't shock me at all.
There was also a good selection of drinks, but I just had an OJ and a lemonade, they were ok.
Venue was really nice, and the Staff was nice but service was a bit slow.
I will definitely come back in a couple of months to have a second experience at the Powerplant.
