Talking Italian

Had a pre-gig meal here with fellow ambassador hack_man, where we ordered the potato skins, penne arrabiata, pizza and a glass of house red wine from the separate vegan menu.

The potato skins we shared were excellent, but I was disappointed with the sparseness of toppings on my pizza. The House red was great.

Service was good and the building itself is beautiful, with stunning decor. Bookings are advised and make sure you request the vegan menu. They also do a happy hour between 5-7pm.

Something for the Weekend

Enjoyed a decent penne arrabiata here with a lovely glass of red and the good company of fellow Newcastle ambassador Dead Pledge before we went to see The Divine Comedy at the Glasshouse. We also shared potato skins with VG mayo to start. If you go between 5-7 during the week make sure they apply the happy hour prices to your pizza and pasta courses.

Pros: Vegan menu , Vegan house wines, Elegant interior

Has vegan menu!

Please ask them for the vegan menu. Nice to see vegans catered for, but not available on the daytime special menu.
Found bruschetta a bit too spongy bread rather toasted.. Pizza was average.

Venue doesn't have step free access or disabled toilets.

Pros: labelled menu

Cons: nostalgic venue

Vegan options

Beautiful building, friendly staff, good food. They have a small separate vegan menu which you need to ask for.

Well priced, friendly and tasty

Visited with partner and boys (ages 4 & 7). Friendly and accommodating with the usual selection of good vegetarian Italian options. Nice atmosphere with super high ceilings. It’s in an old Victorian Life Assurance company’s offices.

Pros: Food, Friendly , Dining space

Cons: Nothing

Lots of options but ask for vegan menu

So they dont give you their vegan menu as a standard. But if you ask for it, they do actually have one!

Italian is a notoriously difficult cuisine for vegans so I was over the moon to be able to eat here. It is a lovely restaurant. The staff were knowledgeable about which dishes were vegan and the food was amazing, and well priced for a restaurant.

Pros: Seperate vegan menu, Lots of choice, Knowledgeable staff
